What would make a new stator go bad? I had very weak spark...traced it down to the stator. I put a new stator in and was getting really good spark for a few days..and now getting nothing. I am getting around 49 volts at the red and black wire coming from the stator. I never was getting up to the 85 volts like I read on other posts what I should be getting. I did voltage tests at other spots and all seemed fine...I even swapped cdi's and coils and a new flywheel and still nothing. Any idea's would be greatly appreciated! I have a feeling I got a bad stator ...only because I never did get the voltage I should have. Do ya think it might have took a crap?

Members have reported getting bad stators all the time, along with many other electrical parts. I know several vendors that hate selling electricals because they get bad ones from China all of the time; they can't test eveything that leaves their shop.
Now, if you tested the same on both your old stator and then the new one after it went bad, I'd have to go with you better start tracing wires and make sure you don't have a minor short before you buy another stator. If not, you bought a stator with bad wiring and it burned up, happens all the time. Rich

If you get a good stator they usually last for years, but the problem is getting a good one. For some reason these are the worst piece on the whole scooter...
I think most of them are made by kids in Ma & Pa shops in China where quality control or testing is unknown...
The next worst piece is the wiring harness. Same reason...
