To those in the know: any word about anything new in the pipeline? It seems like every Chinascoot mfg and dealer are selling scoots with the same ol' similar body panels that date back to 2008.

YA KNOW WHAT most of them to me look like INSECTS, FISH AND CATS. Asians are famous for putting animal designs into many things. LOL maby they are designing with their stomach, cause most I have known eat some strange things. ;D

Anything wrapped in plastic is going to evolve into a certain design sooner or later. If you painted all the sportbikes matte black that the big four and others put out I doubt you would know what you were sitting on. Even Vespa has been copied. My Milano gets mistaken for one all the time and the Fly La Vie, Lance Milan and BMS V-9 EVO all look Italian. Scooters will look the way they look until they start to become more mainstream. Bikes outsell scooters 10-1 and changes to them over the years have been more evolutionary than revolutionary.

That's a quasi Yamaha Morphous clone. There is a Puma dealer in my region and from what I can tell, they are Znen designs (tell me if I am wrong). The Beyond looks nice. There's a new 50cc 2T Kymco in my neighborhood and it has that stealth fighter, angular panel look to it that is neat.

I just wish they would sell some of the European or Japanese designs that already exist in the US. Some of the 50cc/150cc bikes are very cool but not sold in the States. Why is that?

My guess is that the big Japanese companies do all kinda of market research and number crunching, then decide that there isn't much profit in those scooters in America.
The cloners probably feel that it is too costly to tool up for new designs. I think they should simply design something new on their own.
I am begging to look at some older scooters. I've got my eye on an Honda Elite 250.
