I'm desperate to find a speedometer cable for my 2008 UM Matrix-II 170cc and have asked around just about everywhere to find one to no avail. Can anyone help me find what I am looking for?

Question: What is so different from many other speedo cables? Take a picture of the Cable BOTH ENDS and measure the LENGTH. Most are pretty common it is just the Length on them although some have a different hookup by the wheel, but usually where it connects to the back of the Speedo is sameo sameo. Alleyoop Here is one for the 150s does it look like that: www.partsforscooters.com/240-19_Speedometer_Cable?sc=9&category=123348

My problem is I don't know exactly what it looks like because it didn't have one when I bought my scoot. I did buy that cable because I thought it was the right one but the 15mm end is a bit too wide so it won't fit the speedo puck...I'm pretty sure the length is correct or at least near it though. minus the extra 20ccs The scoots are essentially the same scoots.

Also, I took some of your advice....I did a measurement of the puck entrance itself and its 13mm's...I feel dumb for not adding at least that bit of information. Thanks a ton for your help though, it is greatly appreciated.

The hole in the speedometer puck...I may not have measured it perfectly, but it looked like 13 mms...It could be 12, I am definitely prone to mistakes lol.

I had a similar issue when I was trying to replace the speedo cable on my Matrix II. I ended up trimming the end that goes into the axle hub with a knife and pushed it into the hub. It wasn't ideal, but it worked. For whatever reason, UM decided to use a different axle hub/speedo cable combination. So, the part is harder to find. You may want to check with Rick @ Scrappy Dog Scooters, I think he was looking for the right cable at one point, about the time I bought the incorrect cable from him.

Can't you just replace the hub? Then you would have a more common set-up?
