In an earlier post I was having a problem with it starting but would not run above an idle. It was suggested that I clean the carb. I did that as per detailed instructions and thought that solved my problem. I started it, revved it up a few times and thought all was well. Now I come back to it a few days later to adjust the fuel/air and let it warm up to do so. As soon as it warms up my original problem reoccurs. It will idle, but as soon as I twist the throttle, it bogs down or stalls. I replaced the spark plug, maybe slightly better-not right. I was going to replace the enricher, but the one I have appears to be slightly too large to fit in the socket. I thought they were all the same, but I guess I was wrong. Any Ideas? Thanks.

It has 25,000+ km. I have never adjusted the valves. I guess I will try.

25,000 KM WOW!! You will definitley see a big differnece after you adjust your valves. Top Intake to .004" and Bottom Exhaust to .005". Alleyoop

I will have to come up with a feeler gauge before I can try this. The only thing I wonder is why this problem started all of a sudden. It started after I tried to start it once after I had bumped the kill switch. I tried to start it several times before I realized the problem. It would seem the valves out of adjustment would happen gradually. Maybe not. Was wondering if it may be some kind of electrical problem that worsens as it warms up. Don't know, just grabbing at straws. Thanks

Just go to an autoparts store and buy a set. They come in a set of a bunch of them in a fold out system. You will never use the others just the .004' and .005" feelers. Common symptom of tight valves is hard starting dieing out at idle. What happens is the Valves seat more and there is no more gap so what is happening is the Valve is actually open a little and you loose compression. It can happen all of a sudden, one day you may be riding just Peachy Keen and then you come to a stop at a light or stop sign and the sucker will die on you. Other times you go to start it and you find that it is harder to start you have to crank it over several times. Alleyoop

I agree with Alley... the valve problems can happen just one day...
However, with that many kms I think you would be wise to change the pick-up coil and the CDI. They must be getting tired by this point...

Can anyone tell me if the enricher/auto choke on these are all the same or are some different sizes? I have a new that seems too big for the hole the old one came out of. This scooter is a 2005 TNG Verona 150.

Are you certain it is the right enricher?... there are some for other carbs that look identical...
It is a Chinese copy of a Keihin CV carb as far as I know...
Here is a video

No , I am not sure. I just ordered one not knowing some may be different. Mine fastens in with only one screw. I will see if I can get any numbers off the carb when I get a chance to take it out again. Will try all your suggestions and let you know how I make out. I really appreciate all your help. I am learning alot. Thanks

Kountryguy, It would also help if you could take pictures of your carb and whatnot. Alleyoop

It is quite possible it is not a stock carb.. did you buy the scooter new? There are a few different types of CV carbs going back to the early 1980s...

I did not buy it new, but I did buy it from the dealer that sold it new. He told me what had been done to it and that wes not on the list. However, maybe that was something he forgot. I don't know.
