Cool! Hanks is a smart successful guy and no doubt has a good grasp of obvious pragmatics. As to d-bag commentary, you can readily find that everywhere, about all manner of things. Been riding cycles for over 40 years... some motorcyclists don't seem to understand (feel?) the scooter 'thing'.I'm instinctively drawn to anything with 2 tandem wheels and an internal combustion engine... Seems to me otherwise you've missed the whole point.

I will venture to guess that he has a smile that can't be wiped off when he rides too. There just some thing about a scooter that can't be duplicated with a motorcycle in my opinion. My first ride was a 1958 wards riverside "Nassau". Never had a harley but have had just about some of every thing else, several 1200cc bikes. A scooter has a fun factor of 12 on a scale of 1 to 10! john

Its cool, but the helmit? That type helmit is good for a knee guard. Way back when I was a kid had an idiot rear end me at 45, bounced down road and wore cheap helmit. Dr. at hospital pushed finger thru what was left and exclaimed " Get a real hat"! He then explained he rode every day and he was seeing a lot of head damage a good one would have eliminated. I now use the best I can find, they are much more comfortable. Im still leary on using over two years because of the plastic U.V. thing, but ill bet that is no longer a problem.

Did he buy the scoot or was it a perk/gift for making the movie??? Genuine did provide scoots for the movie as the article states. Will he ride during the winter after the publicity dies down??? Someone should ask him if it's a 2t or a 4t and, if he had the money would he have gotten the Blackjack insead Just my D-bag comment

I just re-read the first post..and the article....screw the genuine scooter, and the perks. the article says tom hanks showed up for the premiere for the movie on a beat up riva....that is a real scooter, not a recreation like a genuine is. I own a riva too. sounds to me that he preferred the riva as I do not think money is an issue in the Hanks family. john

That beat up Riv is the one he drove in the movie. Of course he pulled up on it at the premiere, for publicity!! I bet he did not ride it from his home/hotel to the premier. It was probably sitting a block a way so Tom could hop on and make his grand entrance. We all know he could afford pretty much any vehicle available. I did say it was my D- Bag comment ;D I was joking by the way I would be curious if he uses a premix.
