Hi Everyone!
I have a JCL 250A. Yesterday, I decided to let it run a short while because it had been sitting a few weeks. I did notice that the fan did kick in. I then decided to go for a ride. I then noticed that the fan did not come on and the scooter started to run hot. The guage was on the H. I also noticed a bit of anti freeze on the ground. Not a whole lot but enough.
I read the threads on over-heating, just not sure what to check first?
I am guessing my JCL-250A is the 244cc CF Moto Right?
Also, the fuse for my radio blew. Any suggestions as to where to pick up a new one?
Oh, and please forgive me if I did not respond if you posted regarding my last thread. My computer sometimes works and sometimes does not.
Thanks a bunch
Ty

FIRST THING TO CHECK IS IF THE WIRES ARE STILL ATTACHED TO THE THERMOSTATE WHICH IS ON THE BACK OF THE RADIATOR AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RIGHT SIDE SITTING ON THE SCOOTER YOU AND ALSO CHECK MAIN FUSE 15 AMP TO SEE IF IT IS STILL GOOD .. ALSO TO CHECK THE THRMOSTATE YOU CAN REMOVER THE TWO WIRES OFF OF THE THERMOSTATE AND TOUCH THEM TOGETHER THE FAN SHOULD COME ON IF THE FAN IS GOOD,, YOU MAY ALSO TRY TO TURN THE FAN BLADE WITH A TOOL OR STICK TO SEE IF IT IS FREE TURNING,, MAY HAVE SOMETHING THAT BROKE OFF AND CAUSING THE BLADE NOT TO TURN ,, THE FAN COMES ON AT 88 DEG C THAT IS ABOUT 109.4 DEG F. ALSO CHECK THERMOSTAT ON TOP OF ENG NEAR CARBURATON. TEMP PROBE SHOULD BE ATTACHED. LOOK FOR SMALL BRASS QUARTER FITTING AND SMALL WIRE COMING FROM PROBE ONLY ONE WIRE. LAST THING IS FINE THE LEAK TAKE THE BELLY PAN OFF OF THE BOTTOM FRONT AND CHECK ALL HOSE FITTINGS TO INCLUDE WATER PUMP IN REAR REMEMBER COOLANT CAN LEAK DOWN A HOSE THAT IS THREE FEET AWAY WHERE THE LEAK COULD BE

Man ccoco, I gotta get your response to her problem summmarized down to a couple paragraphs. That's a great mini-tutorial diagnostic for over heating problems. I'll get that into the tech library in the next few days. Thanks, Rich
