I installed my exhaust last week and the scooter ran perfectly all day on friday. Saturday morning I started it up, idled fine, changed the oil, started it back up, it idled fine... Then when I went to take it for a spin around the parking lot it is missing very badly under acceleration. I am going to check the spark plug now and report back, but that's my only idea. If anyone knows of something else I could check, please let me know!! I need my scooter!

Did you check the header pipe just to make sure it didn't come loose? That probably wouldn't make it miss though. Yeah, I'd start with the spark, make sure it's bright blue and consistant. Rich

The spark plug appears to be functioning properly and the header pipe is secure.
There's A LOT of oil in the air filter.... I took it out and it seems to rev up smoothly, so I'm thinking maybe it just wasn't getting enough air to the engine.
Any thoughts on how I can keep the air filter from getting soaked???
If this was my car I could have it fixed by now hahaha I'm scooter challenged!

You changed the oil and over filled the engine.. 750ml is all they need...not a quart
You may have blown a gasket or two if it is running poorly...lets hope not.

I did not put a quart in. I have changed the oil many times and never had an issue.
Like I said, it starts and idles fine. It was only when you tried to accelerate that it ran poorly.
After taking the air filter out, it accelerates smooth and has plenty of power.
My filter is soaked in oil however and I need to know how to avoid this in the future. I will have to order a new filter and I do not want to keep this up where I use my scooter without a filter every time I am waiting for a new one to be delivered.

I would take the Valve Vent hose OFF the Filter plug up that hole on the Filter, Then put a Filter on the end of the VENT hose and tie it up HIGH on the Frame so when it squirts OIL out it will drain back into the Valve cover. Then your filter will stay clean with no oil and not block your air and mess with the Fuel Ratio. Alleyoop

Ok, glad it isn't oil over-fill problem... just suggested it because may people do this...
But you should not be getting A LOT of oil from the vent hose.
Then you may have other issues...if it is producing oil in much quantity.
The oil vent hose stops pressure build-up in the engine... you should NOT have much oil coming from there... it actually vents condensation and oil vapor from the engine on cold starts and on a good engine you would see a white oil/water mixture in a catch can...
Oil vapor and water... from my engine I get about 1 oz of this 'white water' in summer a month.... and perhaps half again more in the colder weather...
If you are getting pure oil then something else is happening....you need to monitor it...

Hey Macmogul, do you think the filter itself could have needed changing? If that's plugged it'll create more vacuum on the crankcase breather hose and pull more crud in. Rich

I had replaced the air filter last month when my scooter hit 1000 miles so it wasn't like the filter was old or anything.
Alleyoop- I will try your method this week and hope for the best. Thank you all!
