I just burned my leg on my exhaust, what is that material wrap that plummers use that you could wrap around your exhaust, it kind of looks like gaus........is there any downfalls to doing this? like easy removal or will it burn or get hot?

Or you could just wear long pants. (i.e. jeans) This method is much more safe, especially if you ever have the misfortune of having the scoot go down.

Yeah, you're really not supposed to get on a two wheeled vehicle with exposed legs, or arms for that matter. Burns are a consideration but if you go down road rash is an experience you don't want to repeat. Rich

Wrap works good but it can hold moisture in and cause your exhaust to prematurely rust. These scoots rust quick enough as it is.
I usually ride with steel toe boots, long pants, jacket, and helmet. Its a rare moment I dont have it on. If its really hot I might slack on the jacket. When I was young I went down at 45 mph with only Tshirt, shorts, tennis shoes, and thankfully a 3/4 helmet. The helmet shattered off my head but saved my life. I had rash on my left leg, accross my back, and on my right side and arm. It totalled my bike out and the fella that caused the accident kept going.

Yup, I went down in about 1983 on my 750 yamaha triple. Slid out from under me on a turn that was covered with mud from the 4-wheelers running up and down the levee between Dallas and Irving Tx. Hit so hard that it left an impression of the zippo lighter in my rt front pocket on my leg that lasted over a year! Jeans, boots and a denim jacket saved me from a tremendous amount of road rash. I never wear shorts or sandals when I ride. It's just not safe.

Just like the ohers, advice is dont ride without protection. Gloves are important as a helmit and also a protective padded jacket. Roadburn hurts and seeing bone is not a good experience. I still have knee problems from a bike accident in 1968.
