Stator? Replace the ignition switch or disconnect the headlight wire at the switch or disconnect the battery...

Yeah, it's not the stator or R/R, they wouldn't do that. As Sprocket said the switches could be bad, and you could have a short from the DC system on one of the yellow wire branches. The yellow is grounded in lots of places to the frame so any hot wire from the batterry shorting to it will light it up like a Christmas tree. Start inspecting wires and checking switches with your multi. Rich

If the truck hadn't been running you could have got away with jumping like that. But since it was running you probably did some significant damage. Check your fuses, they're probably toast. I go through the wires and connectors and see if any are melted. There might be some bulbs blown and you'll need to check your R/R and CDI. Good luck and keep us posted, we're here to help. Rich

when i unhook the r/r the lights go out . ignition is new i think i need a new r/r and batt and reg. When you say unhook the R/R do you mean all of the wires to it? The R/R is a rectifier and regulator so you wouldn't need to order a reg too. One nice thing about Chinese scoots is the parts are cheap. If I were you I'd order a CDI, R/R, coil, and spark plug. If you end up not needing them you have spares. If your battery is old you should probably get another one. At the very least I'd take it to a Auto Weinie and have them load test it, make sure it's a load test. Here is the multimeter test for your ignition switch.one is a DC and the other is a AC [/b][/quote] I'm not sure what you're referring to here. Rich

Good point Jimbo, I'll have to remember that. As for the AC and DC systems, they're very similar. The DC just means that the CDI power comes right from the battery and not a red/black wire from the stator. Also, you won't see a killwire in the DC CDI because the switch shuts off the power to the CDI and you don't need to ground the coil out to stop the engine. Other than that most of the lights run off of a yellow AC wire just like an AC fired CDI system. Rich

Probably means they can use a single wiring harness, across a number of different brands...but I'm an AC CDI guy...
