Keep what you've got, ride it at 40mph, 1 to 2 feet from the right side of the road instead of down the middle of the lane. Taking some of the lane forces drivers to slow down to wait for an opportunity to safely pass. If your'e too close to the edge they attempt to sqeeze by without slowing, but 1 to 2 feet allows a fairly easy pass. If your'e going 40 and there going 60 theyr'e overtaking you at a slow rate. Or you could go to the other end of the spectrum and buy a Hummer.

just sold the scoot today.....$650 awesome man. Thanks......I am not going to lie, I DO miss it a lot already. I blame myself because I made the purchase out of the blue and did not do a lot of research on scooters. Had I known that they only went 50mph without riding WOT for the most part, I would not have purchased it to begin with. The good thing is I had a great time riding it and the overall experience was well worth it for the $700 I paid for it. I wish a lot of these scammers on craigslist would not posting fake things about their scooters such as them going 65-70mph (chinometer)....I honestly believe there are a lot of people out there who were just like me though. They bought their scooter thinking it would perform a lot more than what they can actually do. Hence the reason why you see a lot of scooters for sale with such low mileage aka a few hundred if that. If I just wanted something to cruise the neighborhood...perfect......me I wanted to drive it to work on 55mph streets....bad idea. Its not that I would not recommend a scooter cause I totally would, but for anyone who is in the market, they definitely need to do research before so they do not make the same mistake.

knoxville363.... don't feel bad you aren't alone...I hear you. Lots of scammers on the internet... a well tuned GY6 150cc may do 60 mph flat out but you need to cruise them under 50mph Over expectations are common. The usual thing is they buy a scooter dropped shipped never having seen one, thinking it be like a crotch rocket and do 75 mph. Then they start throwing useless orange coloured 'performance' parts at it and messing with the carb...oh ya the famous foam filter they don't bother to oil... Then they play with the variator weights and change out the contra spring. Then they play with the carb again...all within 200 clicks Finally the performance drops dramatically or it stops running and it sits in a garage until it is fire sale out to some kid that hasn't a clue about small engines... and the whole process starts over again... 150cc scooter are URBAN transport...plain and simple 250ccs will handle the 55 mph roads but forget the freeways...

yah I have a feeling I will either buy my 250cc ninja OR buy a 250cc scooter. I was one of those people who thought that you could simply just add performance parts to the engine and make it do what you wanted. Im glad for forums such as this one because it was a reality check that it was not possible. They are great machines for the money for sure though.
