might just be a small problem or 2. I noticed they can not sell in some states as well as texas which by the way is where the company that has this ad is located!. also is a sunl from pictures which is probably the bottom of the barrel scooter. might be a good parts bike too.

It says it has the 250cc engine but a top speed of 58? Also says 13hp. I looked at it yesterday but it is the LOWEST model of JCL's catalog. Does not even have a tachometer. Too many issues. I am in the market for a 250cc, like i will buy today or tomorrow but I won't risk this one.

Yep, something is not right, a 250 that does only 58mph?? they usually can cruise at 65 easy. Alleyoop

I called the dealer. Can't sell in certain states because of emissions laws. I guess more states are like Cali now. The engine is the 244cc 250 and that is no good and the 58mph and 13hp typos was a "stupid employee" his words..lol. He has 6 of them and I offered him $1,000 cash shipped and he hasn't got back to me. For a grand it will be a fun toy. I told him I won't go a dollar more. Make and model is SunL SL-250-2.

I did some more research, damn there are always drawbacks. The top speed was not far off, it is 59.6. Weight limit is 330lbs (I am 350lbs) and this scooter has the most worst reviews of any scooter on the market. I rescinded my offer. I got me this one for $1600 shipped. 257cc engine and all the gadgets i need. it is a 2007 though still new in the crate and never been titled.

That's a picture of a 244. The exhaust header comes down from the vertical head.
On the 257 it comes back from the front of the engine and along side by the dipstick.
Those '07s a dealer overstocks and you'll get a 257 54B that will require a thorough inspection due to being 5 years old.
Get it running and let it idle for a couple minutee and open the radiator cap, being carefull to hold the plastic pipe so it doesn't break. Now open the coolant drain and pour distilled water in it until the drain runs clear. Flush with more distilled water for a minute, then add new coolant until you see the new coolant draining.
Close the drain, shut the engine off and fill the radiator and close the cap.
Drain the overflow and replace the coolant.

I am off the market for a scooter for now, seems nobody wants to take my money and be honest. I am canceling the order for this 244. I will not own one, I want a 257 (stomps hands down..lol) I will wait until I find someone who will give me proper customer service and sell me what I want. if you guys wanna recommend someone PLEASE only list people you have bought a scooter from personally, not someone you heard of from a friend or read in a forum. Keep in mind my budget is $2,000 shipped and I want a 257cc scooter, everything else is optional.

www.killermotorsports.comThey have new and older 257s in the crate. They were good to numerous people. www.killermotorsports.com/250cc_Scooters_250_Gas_Mopeds_Cheap_250cc_s/406.htmThe 2007s new in the crate are 257s. The picture is probably a mixup. Besides, the power difference between a 244 and 257 is minimal. I would take the 244 in a Reflex body everytime, if only to avoid the 6 hour valve adjustments. Not to mention that the 244 has been around since the mid-eighties and these clone motors have the advantage of copying the refined versions.
