I bought a power max 150cc scooter about 3 months ago and I have put many miles on it. This past week, when I would try to take off from alight or start from a stop, IT would take a second before it would take off, almost as if the belt was slipping. I am not very mechanically inclined and was wondering if it were the belt or something more serious. Also where do I find the engine code for this moped in the event I want to spice it up later if that is at all possible.
Thanks in Advance!!!

I think because it is caused by it running a little LEAN because of the Temperature change. If it is COOLER where you are at that may be all that it is. Turn the FUEL RATIO MIXTURE screw COUNTER CLOCKWISE 1/4 turn and see if it acts better, you may need to turn it 1/4 more but try 1/4 first. When the temperature DROPS 60 or below the MOTORS need a little MORE FUEL to run right. IN the SUMMER heat they need LESS GAS so you would Lean the Motor out a little. Here is what your carb may look like and you can see where the FUEL RATIO MIXTURE screw is at. Alleyoop

That's a likely possibility that Alley brought up. If your belt or clutch is slipping causing the hesitation you'd hear the engine rev a little before it started moving. Have you noticed anything like that? Here is where you'll find the engine stamp with it's code.
You'll use that to order any engine parts and upgrades. Engine parts for Chinese scooters are mostly interchangeable and you needn't worry about bike specific. Rich
