I just upgraded to a '06 Burgman 400. This thing is sweet! Nice and smooth on the bumps, and no problem at freeway speeds. Found a few on Craigslist, and this one had 600 miles on it. Unfortunately I'm in Minnesota and there is snow on the ground, and the temps are getting too cold to comfortably ride. I get to look at it all winter in the garage...
I'll keep my Chinese 150 around, in hopes the wife will learn to ride. I don't regret my first scooter as I have learned so much about them, and put a lot of miles on in the 2 seasons I've owned it.

Beautiful scooter Jon I'm proud for you. With that puppy your charging system might be able to handle some heated clothing and you could ride most of the year. In any event I know you'll enjoy that mega-scooter. Rich

Thanks guys,
I have thought about heated clothing, and am going to look into it further. I've heard it is good stuff.

Looks just like the one I almost bought. Three years ago when I was taking my MC safety course one of the instructors asked if I wanted to buy her Burgman 400 for $3,000. I did not know then what a Burgman was so I told her I would look around first. Checked on the price for the year and her price was OK. Asked my keeper and she said OK go buy it. So I called her and she told me her husband had decided to keep it for himself. So I decided to order a Chinese scoot instead. I think I would have enjoyed the Burgman very much. But I am quite happy with what I bought as Burgman weighs a lot more, is a bit bigger than what I bought, more like a road bike than a scoot about town machine, which is what I do with my machine.
It really does look real good. .

Great Find Jon C, I sold my 650 Exec Burgman with the Trike Voyager Kit on it to my Brother-in Law he trashed his IB Trike and did not have anything to go riding together. For around here I hardly rode it to much for the area really, the IB Trike is just plenty for me around here.
They are fine machines enjoy and handle long hauls if need be. Alleyoop

I have thought about heated clothing, and am going to look into it further. I've heard it is good stuff. It is GREAT stuff! I use Tourmaster Synergy clothes. Skip the chaps and vest and go for the full jacket and pants. Also, get the leather gloves, they don't look as warm as the textile but they're really toasty and give great wind protection. The jacket is a great piece of clothing even when it's not plugged in. Rich

Bashan that TourMaster is good stuff...but I got a bit of sticker shock.
I did buy a nice Scorpion jacket that blocks the wind very well and is full of armor for protection. It did pretty good at 32 degrees last week.

TourMaster is good stuff...but I got a bit of sticker shock.
Yeah they are pricey I gotta admit, but they've held up great under some pretty hard use. You might try Heated Clothing Outlet, they're a lot cheaper but sometimes they have limited sizes and slight defects. I've bought from them and they're an OK bunch. Rich

Rich
That's a little better! I saw some things I'm interested in, like the pant with the armor for protection. I've bookmarked it and I'll keep an eye out in case my size comes in. Thanks!

Thanks all.
Now that I can comfortably ride on the freeway, I'm planning on using it for my main transportation rain or shine.
I figure my Tahoe gets about 12 miles/gal. The burgman should average 65 miles/gal. So if my math is right I'll save $214 for every 1000 miles driven @ $3.15/gallon of gas.
But it is a blast to ride. The day I bought it I hit an indicated 90mph on an open stretch of freeway and still had a bit to go. The speedometers on these are exactly 10% off from what I have read.
