Step 1 of the stator removal is done the muffler is off. Exhaust ID is .9 inches one of the extended flange hit the frame I'll need to grind it down. Step 2 drain oil. Step 3 remove cover. Found no gasket available it's on back order got be careful taking the cover off.

I dumped the oil and all of this came out. What is sequence? Spring then plug followed by plug? As the plug I released from the case I saw the screen then everything got covered with oil. I ended up with just the plug in my hand. Screen and spring were in the catch tray. Is this how it goes back?

Nice find Ger...Yes it looks like an easy fix, I was thinking pull fly wheel and all...Let me know how it goes if you go there

pick up the spring and filter (leave the cap) turn it over . the small part of the spring fits in the cap .

Cover is off. Stator comes off with it. Too easy at this point. Waiting for the hammer to fall.

More like some of the Japanese stuff, wet stator and since the coils are coated it doesn't short. Just like the oil filled transformers on poles outside your house. Stators generate power by magnetism cutting a coil. education.jlab.org/qa/createenergy_02.htmlJim

Good info Jim. I have to say if I opened mine and seen that I would have said Oh @#$%... Ger sure has paid his dues... I hope to hear soon of him out enjoying that Magnum. I sure have had a lot of good times with mine
