Just heard on the radio news that a scooterist got killed locally overnight by hitting a pickup truck that apparently tried to cross in front of them. I read the article, what a horrible tragedy. Thanks for posting that Smorkle....tough stuff but we have to be aware that things like that happen. After a lifetime of riding I gotta second what John said, just assume they don't see you and they are going to pull out or turn in front of you. Rich

That's the truth... I went out yesterday 117 miles up to check out some things and mostly riding 64mph out in the country hwy and these people just don;t care it seems. I had a car infront of driver must had fall asleep for a second and almost hit on coming truck. I leave a lot of room when riding but I was looking for outs.....

I got my first 2 wheeler ('47 Indian chief) when I was 21 years old. Been riding ever since and I'm 71. The "good ole boy" that helped me get that Indian running told me, in his slow southern drawl, "When you start ridin' you gotta ride like everybody on the road is out to run you over, cause they are!" I found that to be somewhat true and to this day, still ride like that. It''s just using your head for something besides a brain bucket.
