You can also get one of these they work great to also hold the Clutch bell when taking it off. I carry one in my Trunk.

I have never removed a variator with a pound um type of a impact but I imagine they would work for that. I do have one and have used it for other things. In the old days when I was younger it was all I had for motorcycle repairs. to get a stuck philips out it is still the only ways there is. unless you want to destroy the cross head taking it out.
