Ordered new studs, bolts, and a gasket to mount the header pipe onto my cylinder head and they finally got here. If y'all remember in an earlier thread i had mentioned that i had an issue with those studs vibrating out all the time. Well i went to install today, armed with a few tubes of white ultra high temp lock tight. Noticed that the holes are stripped out beyond reasonable repair.i managed to put the stuff in with the help of cooper wire but I'm not satisfied with the rigged repair.i need to order a new cylinder head and i had a few questions. Would it be best to go with a stock one, or get a bbk? I know if i get a bbk that i need to also order a case to fit it. Other option is to take my old case down to my local machine shop and have them bore it out. What would be the best way to go? Note that tapping the holes out and using a larger screw is out of the solutions as the holes are warped pretty bad. Thanks for reading!

Use a stainless Heli-coil they work very well in aluminum...better threads than stock www.emhart.com/brands/heli-coilAlso if you use a full face gasket instead of the copper ring you won't have a problems with the exhaust dropping nuts etc...

Thanks sprocket, you tha man. I didn't think about using a heli coil. I've only used a heli coil for spark plugs but didn't think to use one for exhaust. Will look for a set of them tomorrow. Will also use lock washers. Hope it works good. Now if I'm not able or lets just say i have no other choice, what would you decide about the cylinder heads?

bc Autozone or Advance auto parts should have the heli-coil kits with everything u need the tap, drill bit and a hand full of inserts .I have put in a trash can full of heli-coil inserts .I THINK the exhaust studs for a 150 cc are 6mm by 1.00 pitch.I know the 6mm is right and I think the pitch is 1.00 .Take a stud with u so they can measure the pitch .Get u a gasket like sprocket showed your new studs and 4 new nuts and your scoot should be nice and quiet .Double nut the new studs u can also put a lock washer between the double nuts .

i been all over and nobody in my city has a gasket like the one sprocket posted. i would have to order one. i only had a few bucks at the time to buy the parts so i was unable to order the aluminum full face gasket from scooterelements. i should have anyways. will do that when the ring one i got goes out. i do have a tap & die set so that end is covered. just need the small heli coils. plan on getting them tomorrow as on the auto parts website they say they are 3$ each.

Honda has a gasket that fits and so does a gasket for a Briggs and Stratton 11 hp engine.. I believe...
If you decide to swap the head go 2 big valves or 4 valves.. but often the 4 valve heads require a piston change and new rings...
