Well my woman had a doctors appointment today in the city of wauchula, florida. we live in sebring, florida. here is a map below to give you an idea on the route. the round trip is about 62 miles.
starting the day out at 6am, we got the kids off to school, and jumped on the scooter to make our way to her appointment.
about 20 miles into the trip, i hit a bump in the road, and broke one of my exhaust studs off and the other one fell off due to stripping out. the night before i had drilled, re tapped, and applied heli-coils and it seemed to have been holding very tight. the bump wasnt big but with the momentum of me and my woman and the weight on the bike, i guess it was enough pressure to subdue the bolts. i was able to repair the bolt that didnt break and with the help of some metal strapping, i was able to get the muffler on the bike to where it was almost not leaking at all. mind you this was on the trip there to wauchula for breakfast and then to the docs office. below are a couple of pics my woman took as i was repairing the bike.
As soon as we reached zolfo springs, we made a pit stop at a BP gas station. upon arrival, a swarm of sheriff vehicles pulled up in the road blocking it off. soon after, a long parade of horses walked down the street. me and my woman had unknowingly made perfect timing to witness the once a year florida cracker trail ride, so i pulled out my cell phone and took a video. The cracker trail route has been used for both cattle and horse hearding for decades. Since the route is now paved over, and thanks to modern day equippment, we no longer need to use the route to herd cattle or horse. To keep history alive, the FCTA ( florida cracker trail association ) holds a once a year tradition to ride pretty much from coast to coast in the last week of febuary.

after going to breakfast, and then arriving to the docs office by 9am, we were finally out of the office by about 10-10:30. when we got to zolfo we had stopped at the bp gas station for another pit stop and to check on the bikes exhaust to make sure it was holding. we decided that when we got about 3/4 of the way home that we would start to record video from the scooter. would have recorded much more but i only have an 8 gig card in my phone, so we were only able to shoot a few videos. we departed from the BP and before the point where we had decided on stopping to get the cell phone ready for videos, we had the luxury of riding up on the cracker trail ride yet again! now we were double lucky, as this time we were able to ride by really slow and get a good look ( and smell ) of all the horses. video below.
Keep in mind this is a video recorded from A CELL PHONE! the image quality sucks, and the mic is extremely sensitive! any little bit of wind makes it sound like a hurricane in the video. i would advise turning your volume down ALOT.
after passing the convoy again, we didnt take any more footage untill we had reached our point. after that point we decided to take brief video of each of the roads we turned onto, just to show you the country area we are close to. now mind you, this is a cell phone video, and my woman is not a professional camera footage recorder. TURN SOUND OFF because all you can hear is wind ( sorry guys! ) enjoy!
in this video, you can see us passing over the 1 lane bridge that we broke down going through on our way to wauchula. TURN SOUND DOWN!
this next road is the one leading up to the rear entrance of the highlands hammock state park. TURN SOUND DOWN!
This is the ride through the highlands hammock state park. this is what the REAL FLORIDA looks like. again, turn the sound down lol.
