mike6736, I am not sure if this will help but anyway I have a an adobe file for the Linhai YP250 Service manual that shows very good block electrical diagrams. These diagrams are technical so you do need to know how to read them. If you think it would help just let me know and I will email the file to you and be more than happy to help you work through it. If you would like I can pm messages. If you have access to an air compressor I would use it at low pressure to blow out the key switch and flood it with WD40 and then blow that out. It seems to me that the problem is the key switch. Because the key switch has a few electrical contacts there is probably a certain amount of shorting out occurring.

Hey thanks Ed... I had talked to Al and called Jim today for advise too. Here is the scoop, I followed the power to the switch and bindo...Power to the red and green to the switch. I set my meter direct to the out leads of the switch and no power. Soooo, Jim you and AL and I and Ed you too, were right...the water did cause a problem and it is in the key switch. I will be using WD40 and air on it in the morning if I am up to it and things I hope will be back to the norm. It was a hard side rain as the wind was strong for almost 3 hours...
I'll keep ya all posted when I get around to doing it, ya know the way the key sets indented as it is I didn't expect it to be the key...
Thanks Mike

I have been riding the Honda a little, am taking it to the VA in the morning about 36 miles each way. OK...I did get out and fixed the Magnum today. I cleaned the key, sprayed and put the air hose to it nothing. TThan I took and iunplugged the two connectors from the switch and put a good light on the connetors and and seen the4 problem. Sprayed the connectors out cleand and dried and turned the key POWER....Yeah BABY she is back onb line. I tied the connetors in a bundle and and slipped a plastic bag over them as flashing if it get in the rain again.

Great you got it running!!!! I had a feeling when I talked to you on the phone that the switch was the problem by what you told me it was doing. Good Job!
