So I'm still in the middle of my GY6 exhaust problem repair. I had to get a new pipe, new muffler, new everything and start from scratch. I went with stock everything so if it still gets cherry hot I know the problem lies elsewhere. The final part arrived today, and it is the exhaust gasket. It looks like the right shape there is no doubt, but it doesn't resemble gaskets I am used to working with. It is nearly 1/4" thick and hard as plastic. In fact, on first exam I thought it was plastic. Does this sound normal? I guess I was expecting something much thinner and somewhat flexible. So do I use gasket dressing just like I would for any other gasket? Suggestions are welcome.
