i was wondering if ice bear is still producing the compellor trike for 2012. also i have a 2010 compellor in which i am hearing noise coming from the rear sounds like the chain maybe to loose and trying too jump. i have not adjusted the chain at all. it has only 250 miles on it. i wondering if there are any rear differential problems with these trikes or trans problems like bad bearings or loose clutch nuts or nuts coming loose in trans or rear diff. i had this happen on a ice bear 150cc the clutch hub nut and variator nut was loose from factory. i wondering if that is what i hear from the rear or is it the chain. any help or feedback would be helpful

As far as I know IB is still producing the Compeller.
As far as the noise is concerned, Check the chain tension before anything else. Also make sure that the forward/ reverse adjustment is correct and it is fully engaging in both directions.

They have had problems with the reverse and most 300 trikers have moved the arm back toward the rear and tied it up and NOT USE the reverse just push it back when you have to. If the gears do not mesh right it will tear your gears up and you will need to rebuild the gearbox.
I think yours is also an INDEPENDANT suspension which also has some problems. There are two guys on here Leenark and Mike who have trikes with the INDEPENDANT suspension and they can chime in and tell you of the horror stories they have run into.
But they can tell you what to do and what NOT to do. Alleyoop

the 2010 compellor trike does not have independent rear suspension it has a straight axle with a rear differential. i will lockout the reverse cable so you have to push trike in reverse by hand.
i also needed to know how much trans fluid and what type and also rear diffential amount and type.also should i take off side cover on motor to make sure clutch and variater nuts are tight and also inspect for any problems. are there any problems that anybody has seen on the inside cover or am i wasting time

Ok, if yours is a straight axle does it look like this, this one is for a 50cc the only difference between this one and the ones on the bigger trikes 150s is that for the bigger ones they have 4 mounted brackets and not just two like on the 50s. If yours looks like this I can help. If you hear some noise coming from your axle check the CASTLE NUT holding your hubs. Grab the Castle nut and try to move it back and forth. If you can move it you need to take the cotter pin out and tighten it up turn so you can line up the next slot on the castle nut to slide the cotter pin in. If the hole is actually outside of the castle nut you will need to add a washer behind the castle nut. Alleyoop

The rear is diferent comaring it to other models.
To adjust the reverse mechanism on a Compeller, Put the trike in reverse then ensure it is fully engaged. If not adjust the cable until it is. Then Try forward and make sure that it goes fully into forward. There is not a measurement for slack.

Iron, I can't remember how much gear 5/95 I put in my motor trans, I made a note on it some were and lost it. Lee??? do you remember? On your rear now.... Yours is different than mine so can't help you there, on the Magnum the rear gear box is 6oz - 7 oz max or it will drip out the grease axle seals...

Mike: No I don't remember either. I just add slowly until it registers correctly. Ironworks: One bit of advice I will give you is to fix this before you ride. It will never get better on it's own...and fixing things early on all these chinese (and any others for that matter) prevents serious problems later. I do a check (about a 3 minute ordeal) before I ride every time. A little patience goes a long way on these trikes. Lastly any nuts and bolts that are under weight stress (like the Magnums chain adjustment) are better done with the stress relieved...on our magnums that means jacking the rear up off the ground before you adjust the chain. It will help the wear and tear on the cheap chinese bolts. Other option is to replace them when you work on them with quality US products (which is what I tend to do). I never fixed replaced a problem twice with mine. I've gone over a year with no problems on my Magnum.
