Hello all.. OK. So a little about myself? OK. I'm a single father of two teens. One about to be an adult. I've been heavily active in the android community ( smart phones tech) and love google and the aosp. What brings me here? Lol OK. I recently paid 70$ for a 50cc peace sports scooter from a colleague at work. They said it ran a year ago and parked it. The battery is dead. I have a charger. A car battery charger but it has some settings and i hope may get it charged. OK now then.. I'be owned a scooter in high school. A Honda spree, elite 250, and an elite 80 I believe. When they first came out with that line. Now I know this is an el cheapo. Lol But paying what I did for this bad boy I feel I got a good deal. So.. I can say this. It was layed down once and mirror was broken off. Also I see the break levers and throttle grip can use some tlc .. Its actually showing 1499.9 actual miles. It doesn't appear to be modified in any way. If there is anything I left out just ask and i will reply as quickly as possible. Also if you find you have a smartphone and its having issues and you would like it to run as factory release or custom roms or root I can help.. Once again my motorcycles and scooters in the past was 20 years ago. Lol so if this brand is too awful and i have problems to be aware of, whether you think I may know already or not I'm all game and ears. So..that said. Trickle charge if possible? Would be a question. Also. Before I even ho lift the seat, is the battery hard to get to? I know in the past I've seen some silly places for batteries. This one I haven't even looked. Can't be too bad. Lol Should I charge and then clean out the fuel and Carb? Or try starting? Or maybe oil change first? Any takers? Just any fyi will be greatly appreciated ... thanks all and hope its not too early in the am.. crazy shifts for me...lol :-)

Welcome to the forum Iman, Is it a 2 stroke or 4 stroke, if it has a valve cover its a 4 stroke if no valve cover its a 2 stroke.
If has been laying around for a while change the oils and gas and clean out the carb and put in a new spark plug. Charge the battery and see if it starts. The kick starters are not for everyday use only for emergencies they are not very sturdy and break easly if over used. The carb is probably all gummed up from old gas being left in there and the jets and passagaes are all probably clogged. So clean out the JETS and Spary into the holes and spray should come out inside the carbs Venturi from the outlets from the jets.
As far as the battery if there is a TRAP DOOR on the FLAT FOOT BOARD that is usually will you will find the battery and most likely the CDI as well. If not then it will most likely be under the seat. Alleyoop

Well howdy Imanotemaker, I think our pal Alley covered about everything including welcome to the forum. Peace is not a bad brand and for $70.00 you can't lose. Let us know what happens with the scooter and we'll be glad to help out. Now with two teenagers you'll probably need a psychologist but that we don't have. Rich

The guys here won't steer you wrong! Welcome!
Draining the tank and cleaning the carb is #1. Changing oil is #2, if it will start and warm up enough to get the oil to flow out.
The battery is another thing, entirely. Don't use a regular auto battery charger! Only a trickle charger! Bring it up to a full charge then take it to have it load tested. Autozone or some place similar will load test it for you free. I have a feeling that you are going to need a new battery, especially if the scoot was not kept indoors (like a heated garage) over the winter and if it is over a year old. Just be certain that the replacement batt will fit in the battery compartment. Same physical size and amps. If it's a 5 amp batt, you might consider going to a 7 amp, but only if the physical size is the same.
