Tried that. I found a few screws but there are a few that are hiding from me.

It's like changing the lights on a two headlight scooter, you have to get that cowling off. There's usually four to six screws on the dash area holding it on:
And then two to four underneath:
If you get all of the retaining screws off it should appear loose but may still be held on by some tabs. Check for those spots and then work them loose. It will slide off to the front but be careful of all the attached wiring. It does come off although it can be a puzzle. Rich

mine is a Vip cowlings almost the same as yours i take out the screws like Rich said and it slides down towards the tire on an angle and it has plastic locking tabs it slides off hard (will fight you) but be careful cheap chin plastic is brittle and you can bust the tabs off!! install is the reverse line up the holes and slide cowling back up and put in screws GOOD LUCK hope this helps terry

The fellas have given you some good information on how to get the cowling off and gain access to the headlight. I would recommend that when you reassemble it that you dip the tip of each screw into some silicon just before installing them. They seem to hold a bit better and not work loose as easily. I second the being careful with aligning the tabs on it. They will break quite easily if you don't get them in just right.
