I am looking for a tryke. I have read almost every post on here and the Dawg about the problems between the 150 and the 300 Their is no doubt in my mine that I will have to work the kinks out of either one. But I would like to know when the 300cc had the straight axle did it have as many problems as it does now with the independent rear? I have read the PDI setup that pretty much goes through the scooter but even with doing that the problems arise, mostly because of the tires. Are the 150 tires as bad as the 300's or is it because of the different rears that it is not felt as bad on the 150? What I would like to see is if possible a NEW update that would tell us new buyers about the other things that have developed since they first came came out. I am amazed that Icebear has really not taken care of some of the problems by changing vendors instead of just sending out parts for the customer to replace with a hit and miss type of deal. As far as their NEW PDI that they now offer I don't believe it will take care of the problem. I have not read anywhere that they will road test them to see if there is any shaking and vibration problems, has anybody heard that ? Well I am waiting to see if the problems with the 300 are taken care of and if not I know with the help this forum gives any problem can be fixed. I just thought a review of things to watch out for in a thread would be good.

As I have heard they put the cheap tires on the rear of all the trikes... Even the front tires are best to change, wow what a difference that alone made

I think it is best to see what they are building this year...Price will be more but may well be worth it. Most want larger tires any how. I heard they put the 14 in tires on them like the other 300 they make, that would be nice but I am sure it is a cheap tire and will need replacing, but no big deal.
Man is it windy out this way, no rain but the wind is 20mph or more

Yep, that is how they keep the price down, the motors are clones and pretty good but they have been around for decades. Most of us have changed the Rear Tires. One thing is if you have vibration first thing is balance the tires. Here is a tip if it takes more than 3grams of weights to get it balanced get a better tire. Alleyoop

I found a used ps150 11 they are out there you just need to look. You have to go through them any how and correct the problems . So I desided to start with a used one It had 600 klm on it set up for couple years no major problems yet .Cosmetic mostly but if your not handy with tools don't try it. I got it for a good price so I can put a little in to it with out crying. Good luck

What do you guys think of writting a stickey with all the New info you guys have learned threw the years. It would sure save time when a new owner buys a bike and is going crazy trying to figure it out. It would be the Bible of Tryke Fixes and Thoughts. Anyway is the 150 not shake as bad because it has a straight axle even though it has bad tires? And the 300's when they had a straight axle did they shake as bad? Just trying to understand why such a big difference. What you guys think of the PD done by the factory? Will it fix the problems, will they road test? Nothing will change until Icebear geats the bad dealers weeded out also that seems to be a big problem also. With the short time I have been trying to get a bike I cannot belive the things I have read and actually had pulled on me. Thats one of the reasons I would like to find a used bike. Hey Mike what happened to the lady that had a 300 that used to make you fix it?

Well you can probably start a thread yourself and go and copy the existing info from the existing threads on the trikes and just make one big sucker. Just about all the stuff is here in different named threads and or in a problem trike thread just has to be gathered and organized into one TRIKE PROBLEMS AND TIPS section. Maybe I will get ambitious and take it on. I did a whole write up on the CVT: Variators, Weights, Springs etc.. that I learned through experimenting with the different parts. I mean I think it would be great for a new owner who just buys a bike. He can go to that and see the different problems that have come and hopefully gone through time without going crazy. Also Alley what do you think about what I said about Icebear doing the PDI. Do you really think a bunch of workers are going to go through that bike like Jim would? I can just see them driving all over the parking lot with handlebars shaking and trannies jumping out of gear. They won't change the front or rear tire, balance them or change a hub. Wrap,Pack and Ship!! What they really need is what Hyndi did and get quality control going

I believe that the scooter industry will have these kind of problems untill they set up a system of dealers to PDI the bikes /deliver/ and make sure they are right BEFORE they are deliverd. Also I think they should reconsider there mail order delivery system. Its no wonder they have so much trouble with the machines .Oh well thats my two sence for what it's worth//

They will better and the price will be higher....The Lady that had the Blue Magnum sold it I was told by the shop that went out of business last month.. They said she sold it for $3000 and and that was the newer verson with the plastic pull start on it. That thing was a rattler I tell ya. You think I have cracks in the rear deck, looked like someone jumped on that one.. I have never seen it one the road since

Why do you believe the shop went out of bussiness? My guess was internet sales of the units/ all though most of the scooter shops I have checked out in this area //dont stock parts and do not repair much//FIDO

Well, the building is empty and I talked to one of the workers cleaning up and they said they are just doing internet orders.... I think here shortly some of these shops will start working on them, I remember how it was when Honda and Yamaha bikes w,ere only worked on in Honda or Yamaha shops. These lesser cost machines are hitting the market fast and hard today, we sure have our share here in Florida, things will change...but till than we are it.
