My son picked up a 2008 Velocity 150-06. It has the alarm system and auto starter which I am not sure is necessary. Everything is working on the scooter fine.
The problem I have run into is that when you turn the key on the tach pegs and stays there with the engine off and also while the scooter is running. I have looked at all of the wires behind the gauges and do not see any problem. I found the three wires that connect to the tach and when i disconnect the black wire the needle drops back to zero.
I have looked at the wiring diagram that is here on the site, but am not sure what I should be looking for. Has anyone had this problem and can help correct it.

Was the tack installed by the factory? What are the colors of the other wires? What is the black wire connected to? Any name on the Tack?

Get rid of both the alarm system and the auto start they are HIGHLY problematic.. there are technical post here on how to do it...you can't just unplug the alarm in most cases there are wires that must be bridged for the scooter to run...
Where is the black wire connect to... the ignition coil?

The tachs are usually connected to the COIL feed to get the signal of when it is firing. Alleyoop
