Non Detergent Motor Oil, Opps!!! By tydow (Read 749 times)

Hello Everyone,

Quick question. I change the motor oil in my Tao Tao 2011 5occ scooter. I did not notice until I finished up the oil change that I used a non detergent 30w motor oil. It may be all in my mind but it seems like my scooter now has trouble wanting to stay running. I put about 4 miles on it since the oil change. Should I drain it an put an oil in it with a detergent in it or is it ok? My scooter does stay running after a few minutes.

I doubt the oil has anything to do with the running..could be a bad enricher

I agree with the mighty Sprocket, the oil wouldn't do that. Don't worry about changing it out either, it won't make any difference over the short miles on a GY6 oil change. Rich

Ditto. enrichner and just for the heck of it check your fuel filter see if it needs to be replaced. and the non detergents ok till the next oil change. have a good week
