Got a problem, signals aren't working correctly when battery was low in juice after driving to work & lunch. Also, charged battery, it's at 12.43 volts, but starter acts like battery is dead. Any simple ideas of what is wrong?

The flasher relay needs 12v DC to work correctly. If the battery is low they'll be slow or won't work at all. Is the starter not moving at all or just cranking slow? Rich

Are you getting any movement on the starter ? Is the solenoid clicking ? It`s possible that you have a dead cell in the battery. Although it`ll show enough voltage, the starter will take a fair bit of amps, a dead cell will knock the crap out of the amps available for cranking. Does your scoot have a kickstart, if so will it start on that ? If not then you`ll have to try a battery which you know is good, once it`s running put a multimeter across the terminals and check to see if you are getting the correct charging rate around 13-14.5 volts, if not then your charging system may have a problem.

Also while running, voltage across terminals was 13.42 volts. Constant, so it's charging just fine.

Intermittent faults are always the worst to sort out. It sounds like you may have a poor connection either at the solenoid end or the starter end of the starter cable and/or a poor earth. Maybe pop the starter cable off, clean the ends and connections on the solenoid and starter motor. Then check any earth cables where they attach to frame/engine.

I doubt it`s your starter motor, it`s more likely to be the connections on the cable as I stated above.
