Got My first scooter and I am enjoying it! After a few adjustments, (fixing pinched hoses, new spark plug, oil change, all the basics) I was up and running. It is a motobravo 150 hornet (looks like a street bike, but still a scooter). Anyway I know there are things that I would like to do to make it look and drive better. I have seen mods on the forum, but not many of those mods that I am interested in have descriptions on how to do them. I know they are basic ones, like changing the air box for a foam or k&N filter etc. I like to know before plowing into it. I have looked on some other spots on the forum but cant find where to find that particular mod. Any suggestions to a newbie. (BTW I am a gal that isnt afraid to get my hands dirty!)

I would just do a lot of reading first. A lot of these mods do have some pitfalls. As an example changing to a high flow air filter also so requires a high flow exhaust......then when you have them on the fun begins,.....you are going to have to change the jets on the carb to larger ones. When you get the jets right you get a bit better performance. One thing that some times has a little more bang for the buck is changing weights in the variator or even the variator/belt/weights combo. Big bore can be a big can of worms unless every thing is matched and done perfect.

Save your money ..most mods do little...start with the variator... the only engine mod that gives decent performance gains is a BBK , 4 valve head and performance exhaust..for that money just drop in a 250cc and be done with it...
