This little scooter listed on the Detroit craigslist looked pretty good. It was sold when I called to inquire about it (same day as posted).

You got that right, But i thank that is an 80's moped.
I had a 1978 with about that many miles i bought back in 85 i thaink for $100.
I drove it around a few years with no problems and one day it just up and died on me and i had no clue on what was wrong with it, at least at the time.
Sold it for $50 and never looked back, tell about 10 years ago.
It seems that,that year is the year most collectors want.
and when i went to looking at prices for that year and in the shape mine was in (mint, not even a scratch) i about had massive heart failure.
As i recall iv seen some sell at about $1000 and up for the year i had.

Reminds me of one I had years ago in the 60s, got it at a drive-in movie parking lot. Back than they called them Swamp Meets or Markets back in the days. I paid $12 for it and just put a new plug in it and was the happiest kid in Chino Calif. My brother used to sit on the rack with a folded towel under the arse... Ha, the good old days

Reminds me of the ones I have now except they shift. The one that's broken in (black one) cruises at 35 mph easily and climbs hills at 25

I had to use the black one as a commuter for a few days since I last wrote. It will actually run 45 mph (indicated) under the right conditions and run up a 10% grade at 20 mph in second gear. Even more amazing is that it only added five minutes to my commute over the 150cc scooter. The things have been virtually trouble free for the last three years. Hard to believe they're even Chinese sometimes.
