Hi,

I have this tachometer from ebay :

The problem is that the wire is not long enough, because i want to
install it on the front.
This is what is written on the wire that comes with it:
"E249743 AWM 1015 22AWG 105°C 600V VW-1 CHENGXING"

I got another wire (Not exactly the same), and it's working with it, but as long as the
wire is short. when i try with a longer piece of wire, the tachometer
is not working or it's showing incorrect data.

I can't find the exact wire type, and also i'm not sure if there isn't a length limitation.
Do you know what type of wire can work with that?
Anyone have this type of tachometer and made it work
with a longer wire?

The wire type should have no effect...the length is your problem...the tach my be 'tuned' to that length, and if you extend the length tach won't read right.

Just use it as is... the wire type is 22 AWG very common...
Does it wrap around the high tension lead? Longer wire try more wraps...

Yes. it wraps on the plug wire.
I thought maybe a shielded wire may be the solution.
what do you think?

A shielded wire is just that, shielded and prevents any pulses from any source to get into it. Wrapping around the plug wire allows those ignition pulses to get into it and run the tach.

Try a longer wirevand wrap it more..it is like a coil magnet..the more wraps the more power is generated, so the Tach moves or move the tach use the wire supplied and be done with it

How long is the wire by the way? Maybe I will give it a shot just to try it if its long enough.
