I recently got back from my trip to Europe and the project got off to a rocky start. Before I left I dropped off the engine at the machine shop and had the piston shaved down. I put the engine together and had a few issues with timing but I took the engine back down and re-timed it. It started and run good. After a few seconds I noticed that there was an oil leak coming from behind the kick start gear. So that seal is coming in tomorrow and I will install them tomorrow. I am quite sure that tomorrow it will run like a beast. My two questions are
1. With the 200cc engine do I need more than 93 Octane? Will I benefit any by running a higher Octane gas?
2. I can not exactly remember how the rear tire goes on. I think there is a "long" washer that goes in between the swing arm and the wheel itself.
I have a Tao Tao Power Max 150cc

You do NOT need anything higher in Octane, mine is BUILT up to 182ccs and I run 89octane. Your 200cc is really not a 200cc unless you had it built to that. If you bought it from a dealer toteing 200cc they round the ccs up it is probably 189ccs or very close to mine.
And yes the long washer your talking about is the SPACER, the swingarm has to be nice and straight and not cocked inward. Alleyoop

I can tell you on my scooter the long spacer goes ot the wheel and the shorter one goes between the bearing and the axle nut .

Alley I built it to a full 200cc, I wish I would have known all I know now before I built this one, I threw a lot of money at it and I could have bought 2 nice engines from Steven at Monster for what I paid for this one. Thanks for all the help and patience. I am ready to ride!!! BTW, What size carb do you have on your ride?

That is a great question Sprocket. From what I can tell it is high though. How do you check it and what should it be?
