My wife and I each have a 2011 Roketa 150cc with about 1200 miles on them. At first my wife's scooter had this issue and now both scooters do. We can ride for 30-45 minutes then stop for 30 mins. then start riding again and in a matter of a few minutes one of our scooters will die. It acts as if you let off of the throttle. Once dead you cannot start it for at least 15-20 mins and then be on your way but may stall again. New plugs, new plug wire, good gas, new fuel filter, new hoses. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

The symptoms your describing are the result of the VALVES getting tight once the motor heats up. Then you have to wait until they cool off and they will again start and run until they heat up again and expand and leave the Valve Usually the EXHAUST valve a little open and you loose compression. So adjust them and set them to .004inchs and it will act very different for you and even gain some power for you. Alleyoop

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. I did adjust the valves to .004 inches and took it out for a spin this afternoon and the same thing. After20-30 mins it dies. Waited 10-15 mins it started and just came straight home. Any other ideas?

Your gas tank venting is probably compromised by the vapor canister. MAN I hate those things!! Look at the top of your gas tank and you'll see a vent hose (#1) coming off of the spout somewhere. It'll run to a check valve that will be a small irregular black box. Pull the vent hose off and tie it higher that the highest gas level in the tank. See if that affects your problem. #2 is the vapor hose to the airbox and #3 is the vac valve hose to the intake manifold. If you wish to remove the whole unit cut and plug both of them. Rich

I'm having the same problem with stalling. I thought it was a vapor lock problem and I drilled several holes in the gas cap. That didn't fix it. I have tried running the scooter with the gas cap off, but still it stalls. I notice that the scooter is more prone to stalling (1) when the weather and engine are warm, and (2) when there is less than 1/2 tank of gas. Maybe the vapor canister is the next thing to check.

If You have a VAPOR canister do this, Take the Gas tank Vent hose off the CANISTER and zip tie it on the frame then take the VACUUM HOSE going to the CANISTER and block the VACUUM HOSE off and give that a shot. that will eliminate the canister and the gas tank will have plenty of venting. Alleyoop
