Put her in the air today and pulled the left tire, hub, breaks, and Axel. The 2 small sleeves you see are supposed to be smooth surfaced. The small sleeve is the top arm hub mount and the longer one is the bottom, both should be smooth. Look hard and you can see the roller bearings. The sleeves metal is so soft there is no damage to the roller bearings. I am now looking for parts as I am not going with IB replacement parts on this, gonna mod. Even the bolts that go Through the sleeves are sloppy and may drill grease fittings in the hub for top and bottom mounts. Will add to post as I go and list bearings and sleeves. Magoo

By the way... This Magnum has 4,072 miles on it.... You guys may want to check yours out and clean and grease them. I had cleaned mine and greased them 2 times and seen this progess as mine was wearing when I got it with 389 miles on it. Could be I just got some bad ones and not all the 300s will have this problem. If your getting a shake/wobble at 50 - 55mph and have replaced your tires and good balance or just feel a little too much shaking when jacking the wheels up.... Ya better take a look and see
Mike AL......Thanks for the the tread help.

Mike I can't believe what I am seeing!! Those sleeves are really bad. I think putting the grease fitting wil help, but if they are that soft nothing will help unless you replace them with better stuff. Maybe IB wants the sleeves to wear instead of the roller bearings. I have no idea. When I get some time I am going to check mine also and let you know what I find. Do the roller bearings just come right out or are they pressed in?

OK... After searching the net I found nothing for the sleeves so off I went to 3 different machines shops. The upper sleeves are out of round and the bolts are bent. I thought the roller bearings were OK - Wrong... Here s what I am having done: 16 - new roller bearings - Japan high grade installed 8 - new properly sized bolts, stronger/harder
4 - grease fittings drillled and installed
4 - New sleeve many times harder than old
The owner stopped by and looked at the trike as he live 3 blocks from me checked the axle system out and pointed out a couple things that I have already planed to address and said there should be a much smoother ride and a lot less noise. Well, he is going to get this ready for me sometime next week so we shall see. He will keep all records so more can be made and shipped if anyone would like later. Wow, all I have to do is install the axles and hubs when he is done but I have a few other things to do on her so off I go...

Magoo If you don't mind ask him if he would be willing to put a replacement kit together? Can you create a list of what you bought on your own? I'd like to ride more and would like a better safer ride. Thanks Gerry

Gerry he is keeping records of all parts bolts nuts and all so hang in there and let's see how all comes out... You know could be I just got bad parts??? But I remember Lee and I checking ours last year it seems like a lot of movement in the rear wheels, now that was a year ago mine are real bad now. I also checked Tierods trike when he had it up on a jack and he had a lot of play too, not as bad as mine but hey let's seee what we can do to make them ride better.

Up date... The hubs are done and ready for install. Grease fittings installed and the single sleeve is now 2 parts each and the roller/needle bearings are pressed on each. Now with the grease fittings you grease the bolt bearings and all at once top and bottom of hub to swing arms.
The swing arms also have needle bearings that attach it to the base mount. Bearings on the left side of trike shot, dirty and dry of grease, just the bottom swing arm mounts. The top swing arms are ok, am cleaning and greasing. Having trouble finding bearings this size, have another company to check and see if they make. If not the shop has another idea will find out in a day or so.
I think one should pull the hubs and swing arms every 2,000 miles and grease the bearings and the bolts so they do not have to go Thur all this as it is very costly... When I am done I can grease mine and will every 500 mile or so and should never have rear issues again. Hope Hope

Will do Al... I just talked to him again and he said he has all the parts ready but have not pressed the bearings into the hubs yet. Think I am on the side sort of speek till he locates and gets the bearings in for the swing arms. Is like a Rod Shop, called Upper Limit Performance, he has a cool Rod in the shop now he buit the motor and all

Yep, hot rod shops are the best to get to know someone. They can build just about anything I know the one I go to he builds dragsters and a lot of hot rods he always has about 6-8 in his shop up on lifts and on the floor. The Porsche dealer down the street from me sends about 10 Porsches a year to him to put in ROLL CAGES to sell to the people that go and race them. They are brand new and the dealer strips the interior out so he can weld in the cages. Alleyoop

Sorry but been down a little with health issues. The hubs are done and now have grease fittings and new bearings. The problem is now locating bearings for the swing arms, all 8 bearings are the same but no one has them instock and I am not putting the Chino ones in... So I have a bearing shop in search of them now or will have sleeves made of inpregnate lube made, but than the cost goes way up so is last resort. Will take some pictures of the hubs befor reinstall and have Al post
