Driving home around 45mph I start hearing a wicked rattle. No where to stop I continued home, no real change in performance other then wicked rattle coming from around the front of the motor. Get home and realize that I am missing a bolt from where my exhast connects to my motor. I figure I lost a bolt, lost the gasket. Just need to reconnect. Thankfully I have a broke down 50cc so as a fix I could remove the bolt and gasket from it and put on the 150 being it's past midnight and no shops open. Guess what, no gasket on the 50cc. So now being that the scooter is my daily driver/only wheels, I tightened the bolts but still rattle, doesn't seem as bad though. So a few questions.... Will this be ok to drive to work tomorrow (3 miles) and then get a gasket (2 miles) without a gasket? Yes exhast will be connected Also, will this/has this caused any other damage I need to look into? Thanks in advance

it is not ideal but it should be ok if you have some copper wire make a makeshift gasket out of it by wraping it around a socket the right size and put it in until you can get the right gasket

If you absolutely have to ride it do yourself a favor and take it for a quick spin before doing any longer rides. Check the plug and make sure you're not running too lean. I $4 missing gasket could cost you a new top end if you push it too lean.

No gasket...not likely...the gasket is a copper ring...
