Mansel, Need some detail on what happens, breakdown can mean a lot of things. Does it BOG when you twist the throttle. Also what is wrong with the plug that you change it and it again goes. Does it start easy, does it idle good IS IT A 4 STROKE or 2 STROKE. Alleyoop

Did not notice you are a new member, WELCOME Mansel, good to have you on the forum. Like I said if you could give some details on how it acts or what it does we will figure the problem out. From just what you said about changing the plug and it runs again, I would suspect the plug is getting fouled either running to lean or to rich or if it is a 2 stroke to much oil in the gas mix.
Again Welcome Alleyoop

Well can you take a picture of the plug that lasts only for a month? What is wrong with the PLUG is the important thing. What it looks like will tell what is wrong. ALSO WHAT KIND OF PLUG ARE YOU USING and THE NUMBER OF THE PLUG? We use PHOTOBUCKET to post pictures it is free. Just go to photobucket.com/ create an account and load up your pictures and then share them here. Alleyoop

The Jet Basix 50 is a 2 stroke, plug should be an NGK BR8HSA or equivalent. Mixture screw should be about 3/4 turn out. The oil pumps are quite forgiving on these, we run ours set to the maximum feed and the bike runs fine. However problems do occur if the bore gets excessively worn which causes the plug to oil up. When the bike stops do you remove the plug from the head and crank the engine to make sure it`s not sparking ? As Alleyoop stated can you post a pic of the duff spark plug, it will give some idea of the cause of the problem.

Might consider a hotter plug...
