Hello!
I'm brand new to the scooter world, yet I've done quite a bit of research on this website (very helpful!)
I just bought a 2008 Roketa MC-54B from a guy that I work with, for $500 (has just over 600 miles). He had a lot of problems with it from day one, and honestly he never had the patience to tweak the little things that need to be tweaked (and his wife hated it).
From what I can tell, his only problem was starting it up. I gave him rides to pick it up from the mechanic, and the mechanic always said that there was nothing wrong with it, you just have to have patience.
It can be tricky to start, but I think I'm going to try adjusting the idle (it's a bit low, I believe) and perhaps adjusting the intake and exhaust valves. For example, this morning I started it up first try with no problems. Went in the house to let it warm up for a minute and when I returned it had died and wouldn't start again. I went to work, returned home, and it started fine (I took it for my first long trip this afternoon, drove for about two hours. This thing is a blast!).
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm pretty handy with anything technical, although I've never done anything with engines. I hope you guys don't mind, but I intend to you use you for lots of help!

Welcome to the forum Relsky, congrats on the MC-54B acquisition. For $5C you could part that puppy out and still make a profit. You got a great deal. If you need tech help with your new toy just post in the 250 clinic section. If you need any help getting around the forum just shoot me a PM. Have fun! Rich

I had the same unit (2008 Roketa 250 54B) and I had some problems early on. I am not mechanically inclined, but I was able to adjust the valves using the video and instructions from this website. Ran like a charm when I was finished. I sold my Roketa with about 900 miles on it for $1,300, so you got a really good deal.

That's why everyone prefer new scooter specially if you are buying scooter first time then you should look for a new scooter. Anyways now i think you should look for another mechanic who is expert in scooters.
