Hi Sorry if I my post is repetitive to others. I searched and did not find something similar.
Question 1: Florida is hot and these 50cc engines get extreme hot too. Do not you think it is better to use 20W50 engine oils rather than 10W30 or 10W40?
Question 2: I tried to change my gear oil. I bought mineral oil, Walmart brand, 80W90 I think. When I was draining I got almost 200ml or yeah, maybe even more of crappy oil which they put in china in these scooters but when I trying to refill I barely could put 100ml of fresh gear oil in it!!! ScooterFocus blog says as soon as oil started coming out it is enough and manual says 0.1 Liter (100ml). I wonder what is correct amount of gear oil and why they put more in china?

Question 1........the only thing with 50weight is being thicker when hot and in a tight engine you may not get as much circulation, I have 10w40 in 2 of my scooters now and rotella in the third and will also change it to casterol 10w40 next time around. Seems a bunch of people claim it's giving a lower oil temp so thats the one I want in my engine now. I am not sure there are any bad name brand oils out there in this day and age.
edit: Question 2, might be possible the scooter before yours got no oil in its gears so the guy doing it had to get rid of the extra oil he had in yours!

The factory often overfills the tranny and crankcase with shipping oil to protect the gears from corrosion. This is easily done by squirting excessive oil into the transmission and quickly replacing the fill plug. You're safe letting oil drain until it stops when you change it. There's been a few bikes that had specific amounts but it was really close to the dribble method amount.
