engine swap

has anyone tried to swap out the original ice-bear engine for another one. I am only assuming that one GY6 will work for another GY6 and if this is the case I might consider putting a Kymco GY6 in my trike. But I don't know if the bolts match

Yes you can do it as far as the engine is concerned, however, the transmission and shaft that drives the gear are different. You will have to gut your original case ( trans area) and put all that into the new case. I have not done this yet but, have been told all you might have to change is the output shaft. Also it has to be a long case GY6.
Buying a motor from IB includes new tranny area.
