from what i understand the oil helps 'catch' the dust that otherwise would get into you carb.

Got it , thanks for the info. do you think it would be safe to run without it if just for a few days until the oil gets here?

Yes, you can run for a few days without oil, as long as it is not dusty where you ride. It will trap dust without the oil but not the fine particles. Now when running without oil it will suck in more air and when you put the oil on it it will restrict some of the air JUST so you know that the way it runs may be different with and withoug oil. With oil it will get a little more fuel than withoug oil. Alleyoop

You talking about the carb leaking due to the gasket? Yea I saw that Nice Going you got it to not leak. It just takes a little patience that is all, no matter what your working on if you hurry the snit up your bond to muck it up somehow(HEHE). Whatever you do just take a good look at it and see how it goes together if you can see how it goes together and see how it works you can figure out how to fix it if its possible. Alleyoop

Thanks alleyoop. I did put the new filter on the new carb and readjusted the fuel air ratio and idle speed. It is better but it is still not performing as good as the old carb. It is accelerating better but just a tiny jerky at first. Almost unnoticable though. but its top speed is only 30 on flat ground which is slower than what it was with the old carb. So i put the old carb back on with the new air filter and it ran better than with the new carb with the new main jet. So any new ideas on why the new carb isn't performing as well ad the old one? Maybe that #80 jet is too big?

Apparently the#80 is to big, that is usually the problem with old carbs trying to find out what the OLD jet is so you can go 2 sizes higher only for free flow filter change over. So the old carb must have a Main jet size in the low 70s maybe a 72 or so. Some of the guy buy mini drill set bits to determine their old jet sizes to be able to up-jet correctly. Here is a Drill Bit Size TO jet size Chart: Alleyoop

Since the old stock carb worked better than the new one, do you think i could try taking the jetfrom there and using that? As my Jet, or should I try the stock jet that came with the new carb and see how that goes?

Since the carbs are the same size, Take the Jet(S) from the one that works good and put it in whatever carb you want to use. BUT I would also take the PILOT JET as well, so the carb you will be using has BOTH JETS that makes the motor run good. Alleyoop

YES, Also you might want to take the DIAPHGRAM WITH THE NEEDLE from the Carb that works good and ALSO put that in the CARB you want to use.
REASON BEING is the NEEDLEs may be different thickness and that ALSO will effect the fuel flow. ON some carbs the Needle is thinner or thicker so that also makes a difference. Alleyoop

Ok perfect. So i am guessing that alll this is pretty simple and straight forward? Just take the pilot out of the old one put it in new and same with the others? Just to be clear can i have pilot jet video if you have on laying around?

No Video but it is the same way you unscrewed the Main jet, just unscrew it off the carb that works and put it in the one carb you want, Same with the Diapghram and needle just take the whole thing out of the old carb and put it in the carb you want to use. So now you will have the same JETS and Diapghram from the old carb in the other carb. Alleyoop
