I have a Peace 50cc scooter, and every few months (depending on how much my girlfriend rides it) it will start then die. I always have to take the carb apart and clean out the pilot jet which gets clogged. The hole is very small looking through the pilot, and I wonder if going to a bigger size will affect performance? I don't want to make any other adjustments because of going to a bigger pilot, it's just because it gets clogged and I hate cleaning it so often. Any advice? By the way, I assume the stock pilot is a 35?

If its getting clogged then I'd get a new fuel filter apparently its not keeping things from getting through....prolly have debris in your gas tank or your fuel hoses are stock and are deteriorated on the inside and pieces are getting off and into the fuel stream

Put on a good fuel filter between the carb and the Petcock and that should not happen. Also add 1 OZ of seafoam for every gallon of gas your tank holds. Buy this type of FUEL FILTER and you should not get any bits of particles getting into the carb bowl. I have been using what I said and HAVE YET had to clean the carb once and I bought the trike back in MARCH OF 2009 and have almost 9,500 miles on it. I do have the stock filter on there which is new. When I first got the scoot I took off the stock fuel filter and put on a glass filter that I got from Autozone. Well I was doing some work on the scoot and somehow broke the glass and had to put the stock fuel filter on. The hoses are all goodyear, I replaced the stock hoses when I first got the scoot. I also use Sta-bil, is Seafoam similar to Sta-bil?

Seafoam is a cleaner, I'd change the filter also make sure no rust of water in your tank

Use a fuel filter designed for gravity feed systems, like for a generator, snowblower, riding mowers etc. Automotive filters don't work well on scooters
