I don't have a tach on it to see where my rpms are at WOT. The bike rides fine, but when I come to a stop, the rpms take a few seconds to die down. It's different from my 150cc scoot which seems to react quickly when I let off the throttle and it goes back to normal quickly. Maybe 50cc scoots are just that way? I'm not saying that there is a problem, but just wondering if it's normal for the rpms to take a few seconds to go back to normal during a stop.

Hello everyone. I just have a question. Is there any benefit to getting a Performance CDI (the orange colored one) or a Performance ignition coil (the orange colored one)? I have an Irdium spark plug and just wonder if there is a benefit or should I just stay with the stock parts that's already on my 50cc scoot?

Well guys, with all of the symptoms I did narrow it down to the carb. I just decided to purchase a new carb and put it in now it runs like a champ. The idle is smooth and bike feels great on the road. I cleaned the old carb twice and didn't want to put it back in a third time to have it fail. Not sure what went bad on the old carb, but a buddy of mine said he heard that the a lot of people have trouble with small engines because of the ethanol in the gas. I don't know if that's true, but I sure won't put Sta-Bil in my tank anymore. I drained out the old gas and glass filter then put new gas in with Seafoam. I hope all goes well in the future! Thanks for all the help!

Thanks for the info. Every time I think I'm getting good at figuring out my scoot problems something comes along that stumps me. I'll check for vacuum leaks and the intake manifold. I replaced all hoses when I first got the bike with Goodyear hoses because I wanted to avoid dealing with the cheap hoses deteriorating. I'll let you know what happens by the end of the week.

Thanks for the response Bashan! Well today I took the carb out again and cleaned it thoroughly and drained out the old gas and put in fresh gas with seafoam. The problem is that the bike runs but the idle is inconsistent. I was going to adjust the a/f mixture screw and the idle, but while I have the bike on the center stand the idle goes from high rpms to low rpms. It happens by itself which is strange. I'll give it throttle for a second and let go, then the rpms go high for a few seconds then drop low again. Then it goes back up to where the rear wheel spins. Sounds like a carb problem?

Well I haven't had a problem in a very long time but one has finally come up. After this winter season I had to take the carb out of my 50cc Peace scooter and clean it up in order to get it running. I also adjusted the valves last week to .003 intake and .oo4 exhaust which is the settings I've kept for 4 years. I've had the same gas in there since last season and put Sta-Bil in to hopefully keep the gas fresh. Well I got the scoot running, but when I get to a stop light on the street the bike shuts off or the rpms drop really low to where I have to give it throttle in order for it to not shut off at the stop light. It then goes back to the normal idle. I've never had to mess with the air/fuel mixture screw (it has the brass cap over it so I'd have to break it off) even though I've had the bike for 4 years here in Wisconsin, so I don't want to touch it unless it's necessary. I guess I'm wondering if this is a carb problem, engine problem, or a bad gas problem? I'm gonna drain the gas out tomorrow and clean the carb again, then put in fresh gas. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Thanks for the information guys, I figured it out. It turned out to be the starter. I had 12 volts going to the starter so I took it out and hood 12 volts to it and nothing. I opened the starter up and it was full of oil! I saw this on youtube where a guy mentioned that this happens, so I ordered a new one and it will be here Friday. Thanks again and I can't wait to get back on the road!

Just tried jumping the solenoid and still didn't work. But even if it was a bad starter, shouldn't it still start if I "kick started" it? The starter itself shouldn't apply when kick starting right?

Hello all. I haven't had a problem in a long time but I'm having one now! I was riding my Roketa 150cc scoot through the beginning of December here in Wisconsin. It started to get too cold for me to ride so I put the scoot in the garage. It's now at the end of January and the weather is a little better (40 degrees in the garage), so i tried to start the scoot last week and it wouldn't do anything. It won't even turn over, but there's just a single click sound when I press the start button. I made sure the battery was charged and it still just makes the click sound which is coming from the started solenoid? I assume this indicates that the solenoid is good? I try to kick start it but it doesn't do anything either. Not sure what this could be, being that I was riding it just last month. Usually when the scoot doesn't start after not driving it for a while it's always the pilot jet being clogged. But it would still turn over. This one really has me puzzled. Any suggestions?

I do have the stock filter on there which is new. When I first got the scoot I took off the stock fuel filter and put on a glass filter that I got from Autozone. Well I was doing some work on the scoot and somehow broke the glass and had to put the stock fuel filter on. The hoses are all goodyear, I replaced the stock hoses when I first got the scoot. I also use Sta-bil, is Seafoam similar to Sta-bil?

I have a Peace 50cc scooter, and every few months (depending on how much my girlfriend rides it) it will start then die. I always have to take the carb apart and clean out the pilot jet which gets clogged. The hole is very small looking through the pilot, and I wonder if going to a bigger size will affect performance? I don't want to make any other adjustments because of going to a bigger pilot, it's just because it gets clogged and I hate cleaning it so often. Any advice? By the way, I assume the stock pilot is a 35?

Somehow it does keep the charge, I don't know how! I did buy a Stinger voltmeter which I have mounted on the dash and it will drop from 14.2 to 13.9. I have gone over 30 miles straight with the radio on and no problems!
