Does the scooter have a KILLSWITCH on the right handgrip Switch? If so make sure the KILLSWITCH is on the run position. There is a CDI and it could be anywhere some are up in front under the cowl by the headlights some close to the COIL by the frame. Also some have a safety switch on the sidestand so make sure the sidestand is up. Alleyoop

This is a REGULATOR/RECTIFIER it charges your battery and also handles some of the lighting. This is a CDI it handles sending the Voltage to the COIL to fire the PLUG. This is a RELAY(SOLENOID), it sends juice to the starter When you squeeze the brakes and hit the start button:

You normally have to remove the battery and battery box (one 10mm bolt), and the cdi is in a rubber bracket or floating around right behind the battery box. They do burn out after a while especially on the euro`s. I think it`s the larger version which looks something like this....

I`ve never tested one, always had one lying around to swap. As you say, ebay is your best bet. We`ve got a sym jet euro sat idle in the workshop, as even the importers/distributors to the UK don`t seem to have a cdi on the shelf, ten day wait while they order one in from abroad.

I don`t think I`ve ever had a problem with a stator on a Sym, other than when a crank bearing went kaput and the flywheel mashed up the stator. I think the euro has an 11 pole stator, with two sets of wires running from it. One set which is 3 or 4 wires for charging, go to a multi plug and then on to the regulator. The other set is just two wires which provide the spark and go to the cdi. This is only a recollection from the mists of time however. Whenever we`ve had a no spark problem it`s always been either a split HT lead, duff plug or cap, duff coil or knackered cdi. The cdi being the most prominent as the rest seem to give an intermitent spark rather than a complete loss.

just put multi meter on the two wire in a loop no current i even put the metre on one wire at a time with the meter on the earth on the two wire that go to spark and these are the only two wires that come out of the stator at all looking like its going to garage as i keep coming home from work and ever time i open the garage door its starting to haunt me now lol

It could be as simple as the Ground Wire from the frame to the Motor so check the ground wire from the frame to the motor it may not be making good contact on the frame and or motor or its frayed or broke.
It probably has a 6 or 8 pole stator I do not believe it would have an 11 pole stator, the 11+ pole stators you normally will find on 250+ scoots and or high end scoots. This is a simple 2 stroke scoot. The CDI would not be special unless it is a DC CDI and you can test if it is a DC CDI. On the CDI on the TWO PLUG CONNECTOR the bottom one put a VOLT METER on it and SEE IF IT READS 12Vs if it reads 12vs then it is a DC CDI if not you can get just about any AC CDI from anyone and get it within days same with the COIL. The euro has a lot more poles than a normal 50, a bit annoying for us especially on parts commonality as we have a mixed fleet. The Sym Jet Basix has a 6 pole, I`m assuming that the Euro has more because it has no light switch, the headlights come on as soon as the engine starts. The cdi is also different from the Basix model which has a standard size AC cdi. The Euro one is larger, we`ve tried a Basix cdi on a Euro but it just coughs and farts but doesn`t run. Oddly enough, the Basix model which is simpler and cheaper, is by far the more reliable of the two models.
