There is an old Chinese saying.... " you order chit, you eat chit". So far my 150 TKB Chinese chit has been more than palatable, so please wish me luck and pray I'm one of the lucky ones. We all enjoy scootering and we all hate the problems so all the best to all of you.

Update to the story... Still have not received the micro-switch from Sunny/ScooterDepot. On the plus side, the customer just bought a brand new Can-Am Spyder. $17000 worth of sweetness. Problem is he would like us to by-pass the micro switch. This would allow the bike to potentially be ridden in the locked position. We could always remove the locking mechanism, but my partner has serious reservations that it would leave us extremely vulnerable to litigation should the customer have even an unrelated accident. ???Wow! I guess the 300 TKB's work differently. I can most definitely ride mine in the locked position(though you sure wouldn't want to), but you'll be listening to the sweet music the stupid tilt lock alarm makes the whole time. So if I'm understanding you correctly you're saying that if the TKA's already runnin' and you engage the tilt lock it's supposed to kill the motor? So how are you supposed to start it and idle it up--on the center stand only? Seems kinda stupid. Of course so are people and that's why everything needs to be designed stupid-proof these days! ;D By the way, the Can-Am is a pretty sweet ride(I rented one before buying my Roadrunner) but for me, no tilt=no deal. And that little part of keeping an extra 13 grand in my pocket was kinda nice too. But if you've got the money and don't mind the way that thing handles it is one helluva high quality vehicle with an available slick as snot semi-automatic transmission.

New2sootn I had that problem for about 3 minutes till i wiggled the front end and the pin/bar that goes thru the hole to lock itself, freed itself, do to friction i guess.out popped the pin and out popped the ram that pushes into the two feeler type points on the switch, and bingo no more sweet music. I know you can dismantle that switch in many ways. Wrap in in wire so the feelers are always flush against the switch. Take it off and twist the wires together, tape the feelers to the switch, you get the idea.
The locking pin got stuck. No big deal. It will have no affect on the ridding situation except IF you lock the bike upright, you wont get the idiot buzzing sound to let you know its in the locked position. Like the old time seat belt buzzers we used to throw out the car when we first got them. Thats the only purpose of that switch. Warning only. No other effects.
No offense, but I'm and idiot and i figured the feeler gauge switch in about 5 minutes and probably could rebuild/repair it in ten. Cookie if your a dealer i would have expected more than the comments you wrote, no disrespect, but that switch was not nasa designed. You should be long gone from that situation.

Mr Palmetto,
True, I'm not a NASA engineer.
True, You're not a dealer.
True, if you were a dealer, you'd probably be better known as "the defendant", because if you modify or jeery-rig that switch you'd be a litigating attorney's wet dream.

Cookie...u r absolutely right. Remember i started the post telling you that I'm an idiot. My point i was trying to make is that if the situation was exactly like mine, it should be an easy fix for someone with your talent and experience. And because i was able to deduce and resolve the seemingly same situation, then maybe my post could get that situation out of your hair.
The last thing i want to do is disrespect anyone. As i started my post with that premise. I can do a lot of things and a lot of things well, but wrenching on engines is not one of them. My intent was to offer a solution to a problem, that if it was similar to mine, was an easy fix.
I apologize if i spoke out of line , but again, i meant no disrespect and i hope i can count on you in the future, to access your knowledge, cause i know my day is coming and ill need some advice from a person of your knowledge. I hope this clears things straight with us and as a former yankee, next time I'm in steel town i'll surely buy you a beer....mrpalmetto

The lessons that I learned and I'm still learning is, Don't buy any new product until it's at least in it's third year of production, specially if the shop that you're buying it at only has ONE in stock. Second, I will Never and I mean NEVER buy a top dollar automotive product unles they already have plenty of established shops around the state. That doesn't mean a handful of fly by night scooter shops that sell every brand of bikes on city street corners. If I would have bought ANY of the Japanese bikes,I probably had it fixed by now.
3rd and formost, don't By from SUNNY,They not only have lied to me about getting me the NEW and IMPROVED PART,wich I doubt they ever had, but, they took my money and never sent me the part. 3 times HELL !!! they've promised me at least 6 times. IT WILL be in the mail today and you'll get it in a few days. AHAHAHA Sunny is a joke,I will never buy anything from them EVER. I absolutely do see exactly how chinese scooters have gotten a bad name. I have four other chinese scooters that have been a bunch of fun,I bought them cheap and used. The only expensive one I bought has been nothing but a dangerous head ache. The only impression about SUNNY scooters that I have are LIARS,CHEATS,and more LIARS.

that is exactly what im getting at. NO MATTER, how credible, honest, dependable etc the scooter dealer is, if they are selling crappy products like chinese scooters there will be no improvement in their service, actually they are the victims too, the culprit is the chinese manufacturers that do not care about customer satifaction and quality control. id rather buy a used japan scoot rather than a brand new shiny disposable chinese scoot. sorry guys, i pitty the newbies who are so attracted with the brightness and the colorfullness of the chinese scoots , will put thousands of bucks then after a month it quit running due to defective parts, god knows where these newbies got the money to buy the scoot then what??? it end up in the garage collecting dust, and the dealer got their money. is that fair? pls dont tell me about " proper maintenance" imagine, i just heard from my friend that the wires the they use to rewind the stator of a chinese scoots are the same quality as the ones in the household electric fans, jizz!!!! an the material they used to make crank case is the same material they use to make kitchen pans. my goodness!! if you have extra money and is serious about scootering---> get a japanese scoot. no offense to the dealers here and everyone, lets give the newbies a choice to be fair.

You can't lump all Chinese scooters together. CF Moto and Znen build some pretty good products. As always it's the importers who help a product succeed or fail. Ordering cheap components can totally destroy a scooter. Sunny Sports has made a career of that. As for junk scooters check out this message I just received on my blog.
Subject: CF MOTO 250 with 22,000miles
Comment:
Hello my name is Dan and I am starting my third season with a CF MOTO Fashion, identical to the one on this website. I put 12,500 miles my first season and another 10,000 miles the second. Anybody out there that has more than that, great bike for 2,000 bucks.
22,000 miles for $2000? Sounds like a good deal to me.
