The flywheel and stator assy came in today. The FEDEX tracking had estimated it would be "Friday" for delivery . Time from order to actual arrival :10 days . I thought it would come via the orient but the tacking had later said it was in France , then Germany then here today ! No customs dutys were charged to me . The parts were in the original box sealed at the factory when it was made. The flywheel was the same size as the I tried to use. However there were big differences in the clearance around the edge . I'll try and get some pics taken later on this week on the differences . Otherwise I have been down with laryngitis since Sunday and still not much improvement today !! Trust me , I'll be a happy camper when I finally get my voice back ;D willc.

After a tad bit of fitting work on the crankcase the new flywheel , stator and clutch assy are now installed. I had to do some soldering work on the new stator assy before I left home . Luckily the wiring was the same as my stella's original stator assy .I swapped over the connectors and hope that will work. Next item on to do list is to get the engine mounted on the Stella's chassis . From my previous expierence this may take about 1 hr to get the long frame bolt and the shock mounting bolt put in. Once this is done I can start dealing with the cables , electrical wiring and carburetor installation . Hope to do that Sunday weather permitting. Hope to take a few photos once I pick up some more aa batterys . willc.

Trying to get a vespa engine mounted into a frame on your own isn't all what it was cracked up to be ! After adding yet more brusies , many well timed 4 letter words , twice tipping over the scoot (and then trying to get it back on the moded motorcycle jack) ripping the seam out of the pants I was wearing and a few needed pepsi breaks to re evaluate why this idiot was doing some of this work without help , in a 3hr time frame. You should now have the picture on how this work session went . The engine is now finally mounted on the frame and bolted in . I can now start dealing with the electrical system issues, mounting the carb , shifter assembly , and hopefully seeing if the engine will work as hoped. More to come in the next couple of days as weather permits. willc.

Busy afternoon with some further progress , high winds and dust all over the place while working on the scoot . Todays progress : stator /scoot frame wiring connected , lower airbox , carb , fuel line, throttle cables are now installed on the engine . The clutch cable, its adjustments ( which can be a royal pain in the tuchas to deal with ) , the shifter assembly and rear brakes are next on the list to do. I may also get brave and check for spark for the first time once the scoots battery is hooked back up . This engine is kick start only so there is no electric starter to deal with . I still need to get fuel into the gas tank with the right amount of 2 cycle oil mixed with it before I can try and start the engine up for the first time . More to come as time permits! willc.

Tiny bit more of progress to report . I got the rear brake cable attached and trimmed the clutch cable before doing some minor cable adjustments. Needed still : 1 quart 30weight non detrergent oil to fill the crankcase ( will take about 2 /3rds of the bottle . cost $4 ) and 1 gal of fuel ( $3.51 / gal cheapest fuel price here in Boise at the moment ) . Once that is done then I need to attach the leads to the battery on the frame then tighten down the spark plug and attach the sparkplug cap to it. I may run a test for spark , to make sure I have spark before turning on the fuel petcock and trying to kick start the engine to life . When I will get to do that may be a few days to a week . Funds are very very tight at the moment so I'll post again when either I can finally claim the thrill of victory or suffer the agony of defeat to this project !! Eitherway I'll have my camera with me when this time is finally upon us .
willc.

Well here we go again ! It has been an interesting couple of days. The Latest : Found out that the CDI that is currently on my scoot will not work with the new stator and flywheel I installed on the p200 engine. I was also corrected that I was to be checking the new stator for ohms . Not voltage as I tried to do yesterday. Learned something new about that . So I now have to order the right LML CDI from SIP out of Germany Thats $40+ $18 shipping via FEDEX 6 days time .. More to come as things progress ! willc.

Update : I'll be ordering the new cdi I now need on or by Monday at the latest from SIP in Germany . I also need to get a airbox bellow that goes between the carb airbox and the frame . JFYI The air filter on my Stella 2T scoot is actually under the front part of my seat .It is in front of the gas tank . More to come in the next few days !! willc.

Automatic??? Old style Vespa type ?? Hell no ! Last night I placed an order with SIP in Germany . They are 8hrs ahead of Boise timewise. I should have the parts I ordered hopefully by Friday . Add another $148 to the project final costs tally . Being in a must have parts NOW !! mode , I paid the extra $7 for rush order processing and just got a fedex tracking number a short bit ago this morning . Thats all for the moment !! willc. ;D

Ordered parts from SIP in Germany Sunday evening my timezone . I paid for rush processing with the fed ex shipping . Items was shipped asap Monday afternoon from Germany (morning Idaho time.) by SIp . My ordered parts came in Today ( Wednesday my time) with no issues from Customs !!! This blew my socks off !! I was able to get the new CDI wired into the scoots wiring harness . I was also able to put on the new fan shroud . My scooter work was cut short due to T-storms coming in . If the weather holds tomorrow I'll try to kickstart the engine to see if it will finally start with the new cdi wired in . willc. ;D
