I got a new carb its a 26mm the sccot will spudder at midrange and run fine from idle and fine wot but spudders and gasps at midrange

Sounds to rich in the midrange either put in a smaller main jet or drop the needle. Hope the needle has some slots with the clip.

the needle has clips i tried smaller jets 98 -110 still spuddered, trying to get the 26mm carb to work, i can always fall back on my 24mm carb, just would like to make this work

This is a 50cc right, try even smaller 90-95 main I mean a 150 comes with a main anywhere from 103-107

its a 50cc with a 110cc kit 52mm piston and all the goodies

If you have some carbs laying check if any have a THICKER NEEDLE to cut the middle fuel out more.

ran great with the 24mm carb and a 107 main, i got this carb thinking it was a 24mm carb but ended up being a 26mm

it idles better with this carb and has slightly more power but spudders at midrange

Well look at the needle in the 24 and compare it to the one in the 26 see if the 24 is thicker.

Yes you can switch the needles also compare the length of the needles.

I have 5 carbs bought 3 brand new ones for the price of two. All three came with an extra Diaphgram with needles. I played around and took one of the diapgrams that came with the new carbs and move the needle one notch bog like crazy. I then move the needle back and that also ran like crap. I then compared the needles the extra ones the needls were thicker than the ones that were in the carbs. I put the Diaphgram back that was in the carb and back to normal.

Don't forget the size of the jet and needle have to match to give the right amount of fuel for the mid range. If the jet is to big to much fuel will flow around the needle to small and not enough fuel will flow out in the midrange.
Also notice on some the tapers are different some are stubby and fat all the way down to the point some have a nice taper to point.

tried all needle clip positions jets 95-110 its just not gonna work, the carb is too big put the 24mm back all is good
