If you look at this video, you can hear a pop and see smoke coming from right at the intake when I give it gas. I rode it for a while today and thought that the rings would seat themselves and it did not. Power dropped dramatically and it was worse when I got home. I even thought the timing was off a little so I even went back to the stock CDI from the NCY CDI that I had used but no change. The gaskets are dry on the chain tensioner and the intake so there is no oil being forced through then, the exhaust gasket had no indication of oil being present either.
Could the compression be to high? I am only running one head gasket.
Here is a list of mods to familiarize or reacquaint yourself with my project.

That is what I saw as well just a spit of it though not a heck of a lot. Also put your hand by where it is coming out and see if it is GAS.
Giving it throttle and it POPs means it is getting to much gas, maybe try a 120 Main jet. What size Pilot Jet do you have in there?
If it POPs when you let go of the throttle it is LEAN. Alleyoop

Walter recommended a #122. Could the A/F need to be turned down?

Who is Walter? Finding the right jets is a trial and error situation it is not a fixed put this in and your good to go. Every motor runs different and every motor produces different compressions as well as other parts of the system may be off which effects the running of the motor.
The only thing is always try to error on the rich side so you do not damage the motor, then you can work down. Alleyoop

Walter from Scooter Elements. He suggested that size for what parts I had and similar engines that he has put together. That carb came with a #138.

Well like I said if it pops giving it throttle that means it is to rich, put your hand where the mist is coming out and see if it is gas. What size carb is on there, has to be like a 30mm if it came with a #138 main, that is a lot of carb. The bigger the carb the passages are also bigger and feeds a lot of fuel as well as it sucks in a lot of air.

Yeah it is a 30mm with a UNI filter on it. Tomorrow I will adjust the A/F to see if that pans out. What if I play with the intake and exhaust valves a little to see if that has any affect. Right now the valves are set at .004 for intake and .005 for exhaust.

I think the valves are fine at those settings if you gap them wider they will not open up as much and maybe starting slapping coming off the lobes. I set my valves to .004" each, if you have a good head they will hold the gap for a long time. Mine I adjusted them at 1000 miles after the BBK and I have 5,000 miles on it now and the valves are still good. It all depends on the quality of the valves and head how often you have to adjust them. Alleyoop

If you installed the PLUS-4 MM crank and did not add any gaskets you are running at really high compression. I would add two or three base gaskets at the bottom of your cylinder. If you do not you could cause serious damage.

I would think that the top priority is to get the oil up to the rocker arms first. Everything else becomes irrelevant when the engine seizes.
