The Koso digital meter I have Has An oil temp feature. I plan on drilling and tapping the case for the sensor. I think this is a good spot. It is the thickest part of the case and is in the path of oil flow to the pump. This is also the chamber that has the oil screen filter. Roy

as long the sensor does not block oil flow and you dont drag it across something that will beak it off should be ok

I was concerned about it being on the bottom also. But it will be behind the kickstand bracket I thought about putting it just above the bottom left bolt hole also, but the case is thinner.

This is where I will mount the temp sensor. It is a bit high but lower than the low oil level on the dipstick. it will not be in the oil flow, but it will not be on the bottom. Roy

The sensor could also go into the block just about anywhere the metal is thick. If it does not touch the oil it will still read the temp and no chance of oil leaks. If it does touch the oil it would read a change in oil temp quicker. If it was me I would put it in the block with out touching the oil.
