The last set on that majesty took the hired hand at the bike shop about a half hour no lie, took me 2 1/2 hours to do the same thing at home! He did forget to tighten the allen head that is on the exhaust clamp, it fell out and I had to replace it. On normal roads I get way more miles out of both tires and use 1 front to 2 backs but around here they pretty much both are ready to change at same time. Untill I got over the great handling on that bandit it ate 2 fronts for every rear....would wear them down on the left sidewall. A left curve is on the outside of radius and good for at least 20mph faster! around here with a lot of roads that have no shoulder on a right turn your face is in the weeds!

How would yokohama have a good bike tire when they don't make them. Bike and scooter tires are a completely different animal and for some one to start out making them from scratch and be the best would be impossible!

UHM!! ---> www.yokohamatire.com/?gclid=CO2YmbDt9bYCFYx_QgodoiYAhgthey make tires, they are a big tire company fyi! it's just they don't do tires for scooters, a tire is a tire, it's the QUALITY THAT MATTERS!! yokohama uses quality materials to make tires, of course they will use quality tires if they ever make scooter tires. scoot tires can't be different from car tires fyi, as i've said, tires are tires....but chinese scoots are waaaaaay different from japan scoots, that's for sure..lol and yamaha is waaaay superior than hondas

scoot tires are different. With the rubber compound used on car tires some get 50 and even 70 thousand miles on a tire. There are a few people who have mounted car tires on motor cycles and scooters, they call it dark siding, look it up. They can not lean as hard but get fantastic miles on a tire. A tire is not a tire. Each requires different quality's. Try putting a car tire on a trailer and compare it to a trailer tire. Trailer tires roll easier and have more side wall support. motor cycle tires have way more support on the sidewalls compared to a car tire. Totally different than a car tire. The rubber is totally different too. So don't tell me a tire is a tire/
If you owned a honda they would be superior to a yamaha....right....how come honda out sells yamaha?

Yokohama sold the motorcycle tire division to Shinko. Either that or the molds and technology. If you want a Yokohama tire for a scoot or bike you have to get a Shinko.
I can't stand what they've done to bike and scooter tires. I used to get 12 to 14,000 out of a rear bike tire twenty years ago, now you're lucky to get 9,000. Front tires are the real pain. No joke, I was getting 35,000 out of a front bike tire and I used mine. Many people had to change them because they would dry rot before they put that kind of mileage on them. My last front bike tire went 11,000, my Wife's Rebel burned up the front in less than 8,000.
Because of all the suing going on I'm betting the tires are soft and sticky so dopes can't blame the tire manufacturers when they run off the road.

We all know manufacturers do not pay as much for warranty work as a dealer charges the customer for the same work out of warranty don't we?
Fact number 2: yamaha recalled all majestys made for several years running for a fuel injection/fuel pump problem. DOT made them do it. Dealers were paid almost $2000 to preform the servicing on each majesty. Out of that 2k the parts were a small fraction of the cost to split the frame and remove the gas tank. Does that say any thing good about the design and engineering of the yamaha scooter department? In my estimation the engine is high tech but the scooter and frame are the poorest design that has ever hit the market. Totally unserviceable. Hell you could replace the fuel pump in a half a dozen cars for that money.
I have two yamaha's and they will be the last yamaha's I own john

The fuel pump had nothing to do with maintanence. Poor design according to the U.S. DOT and poor design when there was almost 2k of labor to change some thing that should have been a $50 labor charge. Had the gov not got involved a yamaha owner would have got hit with a over $2000 repair that was not their fault. You are an idiot luke.
