OUCH! no,but,,which part of the fuel pump broke? spring? magneto? i don't think so.... because the number one culprit on breaking fuel pumps is clogging(gunk) due to bad gas or vehicle had been sitting for a long time./varnish build up i know that, the top yamaha, honda and suzuki mechanic in this town is a close friend of mine... and fuel pump issue doesn't happen to yamahas only fyi! the owner should put fuel injector cleaner to his gas tank, otherwise he is doing a bad maintenance...bleh!

brand new bikes still in crates also had to be repaired .....this had nothing at all to do with owners....bad pump....bad design ...all yamaha's fault....nothing to do with the owners. Mine a 2007, has been in for 2 recalls, one the fuel pump and one for the wiring going to it. This was totally yamaha,s fault and they were forced to fix it by the government.

oh ,yes i'm aware of that recall thingie,,there was actually no defect on the pump itself but on the wire harness, it's exposed to rainwater whatsoever.,, when the rainwater drips inside,it can catch the inside of the wire harnes,...BUT when i looked at it, my goodness, i only need to seal it with a one dollar silicon rubber sealer and that's it,, seesh, instead of them recalling thousands and thousand worth of morphous, might as well seal them. so wasteful!!!! the male coupler is situated below the female coupler, HOW can the rainwater crawl up and mess the wirings? tell me?? there shouldnt even be a recall after all. shyet!! the only flaw i saw in the morphous is the Rectifier./ it is situated just right abouve the radiator AND the wheels/ the wheels can splash water on the rectifier and slides down the wiring/this time the female coupler is under the male so...you can imagine, water can get stuck inside the female coupler...another shyet!!!! i need to talk to the CEO of yamaha

I either own or have owned them all (brands) and really if you take care of them they are all great, just stay away from china bikes!
Dolt. He probably doesn't even own a wrench. I'll stack my 50cc Cub clone against any Japanese bike. Well Ok, not a Kawasaki. They're the best ones you know.
