Or should I say "Used Up Tire" Remember the story of the guy who's suing QLink because his rear tire blew out at a scant 5,000 miles on his Commuter so it must have been defective? This tire, the original Cheng Shin only had 4,400. I wonder if anybody looked at the tire?

No doubt John. I was surprised it was that shot. I was even more surprised how small the rear tire was when I took it off. Most of it is shielded from view. It's no wonder that 5,000 miles is the Holy Grail of Helix owners. It looks like a wheel barrow wheel off the bike.

You would not get even 1k around here no matter how easy you ride. I am 70 and as we get older bones do not heal right. I ride hard and if I should go down I might never ride again. Therefore its a no brainer for me about changing tires. Even when I was young when the tires quit handling right I changed them not even looking at tread depth. Should have seen the damn dunlops that came as manufaturers equipment on my goldwing, I had not even wore the tits off the center of the tread. They handled like sh it so they went in the dumpster. Dirt tire knobbies handle like crap on the highway too but that's not what they are for. My bandit would do 140mph at the red line in 3rd gear, but the only time I did that was when I had a set of tires that had real low miles on them. The gold wing would only do 99 on the digital speedo and there was no way to go faster with out going off a cliff.

I remember the OEM Dunlops that came on my KZ1000. They lasted 19,000 miles. Unfortunately they were "Original" tires only and couldn't be bought after or else Japan only. Whatever
